Moschino Cheap & Chic All That Glitters is Not Gold BraceletIn middle school, Moschino Cheap & Chic seemed to promise an affordable alternative to regular, not-so-cheap Moschino from the pages of its quirky magazine ads. Youth! Oversized heart prints! Miniskirts!

Emily Elizabeth Jewelry for the playful, modern woman

Filed under: Accessories, Interviews, Must Haves

Emily Elizabeth Jewelry brass fern leaf braceletWe love the clever, modern designs of Emily Elizabeth Jewelry. The pieces, designed by a native New Yorker, reflect both nature and modern life, and often provide witty takes on pop culture. (The saltine necklace is one of our faves!) We chatted with Emily Elizabeth herself to find out more about where she gets her inspiration.

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style, Red Carpet Trends, Get the Look

She might not be the most well-known name in Hollywood, but if Amanda Righetti keeps looking like this on the red carpet, she's going to start showing up on some best-dressed lists before you know it. We love the way she took a bit of a risk with the color and then really committed to accenting it with beautiful gold accessories -- it's simple, but it's smart. And, it's something you can definitely handle. Click through the gallery to see how you can turn this look into something you can wear!

Must have bling of the day: Alex and Ani's thunderbird feather cuff

We love feathers. They're soft, natural, and add a little hippie eccentricity to accessories. Case in point: this Alex and Ani thunderbird feather cuff.

Must have bling of the day: Alexis Bittar's ribbed bubble ring

We've always been a fan of Alexis Bittar's over-the-top, lucite-heavy designs, and his new bubble ring ($155) is no exception.

Obama or McCain - Support your candidate with Hidalgo name rings

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News, Style for a Cause

We've always been intrigued by Hidalgo stackable rings, even if they are a trifle ornate to wear with our daily blogging attire of sweats and bunny slippers. But their latest design might be the final blow to our stubborn resistance: Obama and McCain name rings.

Alkemie Jewelry's large stingray cuff

We just spotted this cuff from Alkemie Jewelry.

Like something dug up from the wreckage of a pirate ship, the rough-hewn gold cuff plays with textures: a "tear" in the metal, a finish that equally resembles the frothing bubbles of an ocean wave and the scales of a sea creature.

The piece is made even more covetable by the fact that all Alkemie designs are made from reclaimed metals. (Fact: gold mining generates more toxic waste than any other industry in the United States.)

Who knew recycling could be so glamorous?

Imagine a Photoshop-free magazine cover

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Now this is a group movement we can get behind! Dodai over at Jezebel tipped us off to this campaign to get a major magazine to publish a cover without any Photoshopping!

Considering the egregiously heavy handed state of retouching these days, this would be a radical move. Remember the big Faith Hill before and after Redbook cover? The weird gold Gwyneth Paltrow cover of W? The "Is that really Drew Barrymore" Vogue cover? And this Marie Claire cover of Tina Fey, where she looks great, but not quite like herself...

Seriously, when you have to make these women look "better" to sell your product, your standards of beauty are warped.

Nastia Liukin is an undeniable star. Watching gymnastics you just can't take your eyes off her. Aside from the fact that she's physically beautiful, the young girl also seems to possess a self awareness and a maturity that not every young athlete has. Sports agent, Evan Morgenstein, wants to capitalize on the public fascination with this Olympic gold medalist before it dies down.

Shoes of the day - Loupe by Kate Spade

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Must Haves

Oooh, these sandals are the perfect party shoe! Can't you just imagine dancing away while perched atop these delicate gold-toned heels? We can! And we love them in pink because it brings out the softness of the fabric - they look deceptively comfortable, but are definitely meant for dress-up nights.

You'd wear these at a formal event, of course - but we think these would also look amazing peeking from underneath black pants or dark wash jeans when paired with a dressy top.

(They also come in black, if pink isn't your thing.)
