Filed under: Accessories, Hair Care, Must Haves

Admit it -- you're totally not over Blair Waldorf and her crazy/awesome Gossip Girl trends. You love that she always has a frou-frou headband and you're dying to wear one, too, but you're not sure where to get the best one for your buck. We can help you.

The Fascinator! Booyah!
Fascinatorsnyc is selling a hair fascinator. A what? This is exciting! We didn't know our hair could be fascinated!

Frankly, it is a little fascinating! It looks like it may have come off a professionally wrapped gift basket--off the top of it, that is. We are not so sure about putting this in your hair. But how can you resist when it sounds so exciting? The Fascinator! Booyah!

Why aren't you wearing this? Tasha Satin Rosette Head Wrap

Filed under: Accessories, Hair Care, Must Haves

We just finished watching the Gossip Girl season finale, and, as happens every Monday night, we decided we want to start wearing more fabulous hair accessories. Between Blair's headband at the wedding and her hat at the end, and Lily's flower in her hair, we are simply inspired.

And so, while we might normally overlook this Tasha Satin Rosette Head Wrap (available at Nordstrom for $68) as being a little "too much," we're really feeling it right now. Of course, this isn't a headband to be paired with undone hair -- this is something to be saved for occasions when you're really going for a look. Perhaps you could bust it out for a fabulous Upper East Side wedding this summer!

Erickson Beamon
People.com asks their readers if they would wear this Erickson Beamon spiked headband. So far 2% have said 'yes' and 98% have said 'n'." You might be surprised by this, but I totally clicked yes -- then quickly changed my answer to 'no' when I saw the massive price tag.

What would you guess an accessory like this would cost? My guess would be that this headband could be found at your local Hot Topic for a cool $14.99 tops. The reality is that this headband is $1,400.00 (yep, there are that many zeros in the price tag).

Erickson Beamon have you lost your ever-loving mind?

If this headband had a sane price tag, I would totally rock it with a pair of Taverniti So jeans, a white ribbed tank and sexy pair of heels. Sure I would get some stares, but how fun would it be to strut down the street with your horns and not a care in the world? So far no celebrities have jumped on the spiked horn headband bandwagon, but I am guessing "punk rocker" Avril Lavigne would sport it.

Sounds like a good time to me. But the real question is, Style Dash readers, would you wear it?

Giddy Giddy barettes for babies and kids

Filed under: Accessories, Hair Care, Kids and Babies

giddy giddy barettes and clipsI am not embarassed to admit that the other day, in a fit of exasperation with wayward bangs getting into my eyes while sitting at my laptop, I grabbed a barrette that happened to be among the many other colorful things scattered around the floor. Amazingly, the barette held my wispy, flyaway hair that usually slips right out of clips. I didn't notice it then, as I was deep into the task at hand, but three days later, my sister asked me what I was doing wearing my niece's barette. Don't worry, I showered, but absentmindedly kept putting the barette back in my hair because it was so convenient.

While I probably wouldn't wear one of these Giddy Giddy barettes out to dinner dressed up in my latest find from 3.1 by Phillip Lim, they are totally cute for whom they were intended: babies and little girls. The clips are made from soft felt, are designed to hold baby fine hair, and most importantly, are safe because the snap clip is sewn inside. While flowers and fruits are cute, I love the designs with colorful animals.

Orders can be placed for the clips via email addresses on the Giddy Giddy website, or in select boutiques.
