Last time we checked, the economy was tanking and Louis Vuitton was forced to scrap it's ambitious plans for the new year. Then they go do something like this -- and totally redeem themselves. Katy Perry to Front Missbehave's Spring Issue, Plays With Jeremy Scott
Filed under: Style in the News
Who you calling a CHIMP? from Katy Perry on Vimeo.
2007 may have been the break through year for Rihanna with her hit Umbrella, but 2008 was all about Universal Records up-and-comer Katy Perry. You couldn't turn on MTV or watch a late night show without hearing the pop tart singing one of her hit tunes. We mean, who doesn't know the lyrics to I Kissed A Girl? Indeed, Perry is major right now (insert Victoria Beckham's voice) and, as a consequence, has scored the cover of women's lifestyle magazine, Missbehave. Luckily for us, Miss Perry brought a camera with her to the photo shoot. In the clip, watch Perry play with a chimp named Susie and her stylist/friend/photographer Jeremy Scott. Oh, my!
Is Men's Vogue Finally Kaput?

Tough Times for Fashion Mags
If new rumors surrounding Men's Vogue are to be believed, the current financial recession may have dealt a fatal blow to the beleaguered magazine.
Men's Vogue
After CosmoGirl announced it was publishing its last issue in December, we've been flooded with accounts of fashion magazines in fragile financial standings.
Men's Vogue had seemingly been spared -- at least until November, when its publisher Conde Nast announced that the magazine would be scaling back to just two issues per year. And recent rumors suggest that the situation is even more dire.
Men's Vogue
On Monday, The Cut reported that Men's Vogue was definitely here to stay, quoting a Conde Nast spokesperson who said: "There is no change to our plans from what we said at the end of last year. We will put out two Men's Vogue in '09." Cool. But Fashionista told a very different story based on a tip from one of their readers:
"To: Tips@Fashionista.com
Regardless of what Condé Nast is saying about Men's Vogue continuing to publish, I received a post card offering to transfer my subscription to Condé Nast's Portfolio or to receive a refund on issues remaining in my subscription. I just called to request the refund and was told I'd receive a check for $15 in 3 - 4 weeks."
Men's Vogue
The fact that Conde Nast won't peddle subscriptions for a semi-annual publication shouldn't be all that shocking, but this week's rash of negative rumors seems to suggest that the future of Men's Vogue may be even bleaker than we suspected.
Men's Vogue
This is particularly sad considering that Men's Vogue is one of the few Conde Nast publications that routinely features people of color on its covers -- with Denzel Washington, Will Smith, and Barack Obama all given face time in 2008.
Alas, it was nice while it lasted.

Caged Heels Are Hot for Spring!
Cage heels are sort of like gladiators, taken to the next level. And you can expect to see them all over this spring. They might not catch on as rapidly as the gladiators did since they're a bit harder to wear, but you can bet that any good fashionista has these on her '09 must-have list!Estee Lauder's Tri-Aktiline Ad Banned in UK - Non-Truth in Advertising
Filed under: Style in the News, Skin Care

It's the latest example of a beauty company pushing it just a tad too far.
An advertisement for Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler, created by the Beauty Bank, a division of Estee Lauder, has been banned in the UK. The wrinkle filler, which is sold at Kohls in the US for $39.50, was recently investigated by Britian's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), who ruled that its ad campaign cannot appear again in its current form.
So where, exactly, did Estee Lauder go wrong?
