Something in the London air makes Mischa Barton dress like a normal person

We'll be the first to admit -- we admire Mischa Barton for taking chances with her wardrobe, but she gets it terribly, horribly, ridiculously wrong sometimes. So when the former O.C. star hit up London Fashion Week, amongst other events over in the U.K. we were pleasantly surprised to see her wearing cute outfit after cute outfit!

Eva Longoria Parker launches Premium M&Ms and pregnancy rumors at NY Fashion Week

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style

Eva Longoria Parker had a pretty good time at Fashion Week, sitting in the front row of Diane Von Furstenberg next to Jennifer Lopez, and launching the new M&M's Premiums candy collection.

Some celebs get into fashion by doing a perfume line, like Britney (remember Curious? So long ago, but the scent lingers...) Others do shoes, like Jessica Simpson. We hear Mischa Barton is getting into the game with headbands.

We could totally see Eva partnering with some up and coming designer, even if she didn't try to make us believe that she was actually designing anything.

But no. She's at Fashion Week to talk chocolate.

It's so obvious. The choice to align herself with the iconic drugstore candy tells us more than a thousand PR flack "No Comments" can ever deny. Start the rumor mills, Eva is totally pregnant!

Cool secret: Scunci plastic headbands

Our cross to bear is a tiny, pointy head. No amount of crying or squeezing or adjusting will make most of those cool $50 headbands, in tortoiseshell and grosgrain and satin sit right on our small noggin.

You'd think those neat-o, sporty, elastic headbands, the kind that are all narrow and stretchy would be the solution, but those slide off in a matter of seconds. Little barrettes and bobby pins have been our only bangs control options for years.

So, we were beyond thrilled to find, in the hair accessory aisle of our local Walgreen's, something that fit: Scunci plastic headbands.

Target: Fall accessories headquarters

Filed under: Stores We Love, Accessories, Steals and Deals

Target headbandsI used to go to Target for fashion back in day and then they went buck wild with GO International lines. I got a little turned off, and just stuck to Target for my basic needs like paper towels and dishwasher detergent.

Yesterday I ran into Target for some basic necessities (shampoo and conditioner) when I decided to take a little cruise around the store for some accessories. My hair is newly cut and for the first time I can wear headbands and little cutesy clips. I went straight for the accessories department and went insane – great accessories all for under $10.

Some stand out items to look for are the metallic braided headbands. Two headbands come in a pack for $6.99 and are in the season's hottest shades; bronze and gold. Leopard and snow leopard prints are going to be hot as well this fall/winter; so the wide leopard print headband (also $6.99) is a good investment.

After I picked up a few (okay 4) more things from the accessories department, I moseyed on over to the hosiery department. Leg wear is a must-have, but paying too much for tights and knee socks isn't for me. The selection of knit over the knee socks was lovely: solids, stripes, and even a funky print or two. I held back from buying a pair in every color (they were only $3.99) and am waiting until I assess my skirts for the season. However, I did pick up a pair of black opaque tights and a pair of fishnets at $5.99 a pair.

Needless to say, I left happy. One thing I will say is "be careful in there". When you are surrounded by deals there is a good chance you will go crazy (like I did) so think before you whip out your cash.

Headbands are back (and better)

I've been avoiding headbands since middle school. They've always seemed to be an odd combination of uptight and juvenile. And that typical headband hair, slicked back and flat, was less than flattering to most women's faces.

But this fall's headbands are less about holding your hair back like a prissy schoolgirl and more about accenting braids or an up-do. While I had always thought of headbands as being functional and matronly, the headbands of this season seem more like subdued little tiaras. Suddenly, I'm all about the headband. There are more options than ever before, too, from sporty fabric headbands to jeweled formal ones. There are even headbands made by Tupperware!

Style Icon: Axl Rose

headbandNovember Rain? Paradise City? My all-time favorite...Sweet Child O' Mine.

It's GNR (that's Guns N Roses for the layperson), and long-haired, built-like-an-addict front man, Axl Rose seems to be the unofficial muse for style this year. Now, we know that rocker chic, or the even grittier metal-chic, has been hitting clothing hard, particularly as inspiration for t-shirt designs. Lots of black, skinny little jeans, tattoo artistry, and skulls.

But that's style inspired by rockers. This is style bitten straight from the rockers, like the Axl Rose headband, wrapped around a mess of long tangled, seemingly unwashed for four days parted right down the middle, seen on the runways and on celebs.

Welcome to the jungle...
