One would imagine that choosing an outfit would be difficult for Kate Moss. Not that she wouldn't look pretty fabulous in absolutely anything, because she would, of course. But, can you imagine her closet? It would take us all day to choose from all those choices, but not Kate.

Not all fashionistas wear heels, but we doubt any stylish woman's eyes don't light up a little when she sees a really beautiful stiletto. Really high heels are really a work of art -- as is walking in them. But, that's not stopping women around the world from reaching for heels that have half a foot or more of height.

When we heard about Self-Defense Stilettos, we have to admit that we got really excited. We pictured shoes with a James Bond-esque component, like a button to shoot pepper spray out of the heel or a hidden compartment in the platform for a stun gun or something.

We've previously marveled at Swim's creations, keeping our favorite shoes safe from dangerous water on rainy days, but now we have even more reason to absolutely love them. These rubber coverings look easy to pull on and slip off on days when you want to protect your shoes from rain, snow or mud.

Pleaser, the company that manufactures them, specializes in shoes that only an on-duty stripper can get away with wearing. We love high heels. We love wearing high heels. We just don't always love walking in high heels. And, of course, we could always carry a pair of flip flops or origami emergency shoes around with us, sometimes that's just not feasible. What to do then? Suffer? There's no doubt that we love the way our legs look in extremely high heels -- put us in a 4" or 5" heel, and we'll show you legs that seem to go on forever, like our pal Gwyneth Paltrow over to the right. However, the New York Times recently had an article about the high, high heel and how women walk in them.

Last week the Wall Street Journal continued their groundbreaking coverage of shoes.

In this latest installment reporter Christina Binkley did a comparison of several expensive high heels that are purported to be "comfortable."

I wish I had been there, if not to actually race and possibly win a cash prize, then just to watch the spectacle.

In Amsterdam last week, 150 young women raced down the city's most famed fashion street, PC Hooft, in order to win a $15,000 prize. A race with a fairly decent-sized cash prize...so what? They were wearing stiletto heels in a competition that has the motto of "Shopping is a sport." The minimum height requirement on heels is 3½ inches.

I'd actually just like to know which shoes had heels that were strong enough to withstand the pounding on the pavement. I want them.

Tweed is so very, well, autumn/winter, yes, and I don't know where you are, but the weather here in LA has been teasing us in and out of Spring for the last few weeks. Wish you were getting more action in the bedroom? Maybe it's time to change your footwear. Apparently women who wear high heels have better sex -- and not just because you legs look hot in stilettos.

You might think this is information I overheard at a sports bar, but in fact the conclusion is based on research -- by scientists! I kid you not, someone actually paid to do a study comparing high heels and sex. And in that study, lead by Dr Maria Cerruto of the University of Verona, found that wearing "moderately high heeled shoes" makes for better bedroom antics.

The reason, says Dr Cerruto, is that wearing heels "directly works the pleasure muscles linked to orgasm." So ladies, if you need a little umph between the sheets, try a pair of heels, and give your pelvic muscles a workout.
