Today's featured designer, Kristian McIntyre of Creative Art and Soul, creates sandcarved gemstone and glass jewelry pendants inspired by many of the world's different religions and cultures.

Yoga, once a quirky hippie habit, is now firmly in the trendy mainstream. You can express your personality while doing downward dog with all kinds of cool yoga pants, tops and bags. Only yoga mats seemed to be stuck in a boring constant, uniformly blue or purple -- until YogaMatic, that is.

YogaMatic makes custom yoga mats, allowing you to print them using the design of your choice -- either by uploading your own image for a unique, one-of-a-kind mat, or choosing from the gallery of beautiful photos and illustrations.

The company has a socially responsible stance, from eco-friendly production methods to donating a part of the proceeds to charity. They have an official alliance with Global Green USA, and also allow artists to identify the charity they would like to benefit from sales of their mats.

Looking to implement a little hippie-chic into your wardrobe? Don't resort to wearing macrame vests and Birkenstocks -- instead, get earthy with some accessories that still retain some class and elegance.

Let's play a little game. When we say "tiered skirt", what's the first thing that comes to mind? Hippies? Flower power? Prairies? We're about to erase that perception from your mind. No, not by our mind boggling Tom Cruise like super powers (you wish!). It's far simpler than that. We're going to introduce you to the flirty skirts present at the Luella, Givenchy, and Zac Posen spring/summer 2008 runways.

Some people (you might be one of them) just can't function without a watch. They put it on even before they have their first cup of coffee, and it has a special place near the bed to be stored overnight, making it easy to take it off right before going to sleep.

We have no problem with this -- it encourages punctuality, which is a great quality. However, it becomes a problem when the watch you wear is just a plain, boring, functional timepiece. We get it -- it has to go with everything. But can't it have a little style?

The NY Post reports that 2007 is looking more like 1967, and I have to say I agree. Peace, love, and all that good stuff is back -- and no, its not an acid flashback. What did the 60's have that we don't have anyway? We have an unnecessary war, going green is hot with big concerts like Live Earth, free love is in full swing (hello celebrity sex tapes) and now fashion designers are getting all hippie on us.

I would say Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, and Mary-Kate Olsen really started the trend with the whole Boho Chic look a few years back. But just recently Nicole has been sporting 60's/70's styles like head scarves, cut off shorts, and retro prints. So naturally designers are getting on the bandwagon because everyone wants to dress with the times. Designers are breaking on through to the other side with a modern twist on such India-inspired bangles and bangles, tie-dye, patchwork, crochet, fringe, braided leather and suede.

I personally love that whole eclectic look; but I like to go at it naturally with random finds, vintage clothing, and converting "normal" clothes and accessories to make the look. I hate it when designers go off and create this phony looking pieces, but this is a money making business, so whatever sells right? The question is, will you buy into it?
