Hometown hoops show your pride

la hoop earrings kitsonThis one is for all of you California girls.

Forget nameplate necklaces and area code bling because it's all about showing some love with Noir's hoop earrings.

I found these great earrings at Kitson last week and I just can't get them off of my mind. These 2½" hoop earrings say "Los Angeles" on one ear and "Melrose Ave, Hollywood, Venice, Beverly Hills and Compton" on the other. These earrings are a must have for the LA girl on your holiday shopping list. I know I plan on putting these on my own wishlist.

And for the New Yorkers, your earrings will read "New York" on one ear and "Chelsea, SOHO, Chinatown, Lower East Side, and Harlem" on the other. Each pair of earrings is $85 and can be purchased at the Kitson boutique in Los Angeles or online.

Bigger is always better

edie sedgwickI have never been much for earrings, but after chopping off my hair I needed something to adorn my neck. Before the cut I looked online for insanely oversized earrings and came up short. Were big earrings out of style? In or out, I wanted my big earrings. I knew there was one person who never gives a damn about what is in and what is out. And that person is Betsey Johnson.

I headed down Melrose to visit the Betsey Johnson boutique to see if my instincts were correct. Lucky for me they were. I made a mad dash to the back of the store were Betsey's jewelry is displayed. The selection was huge and the great thing about Betsey Johnson's jewelry is that is affordable, all of the earrings were in the $25-$65 price range.

I loved and tried on everything that I saw. There is a lot to look forward to this Fall/ Winter season -- Faux mink pom pom earrings, gigantic hoops, long hanging lucite plaid earrings, panther cut-out earrings and more (much more).

I ended up picking up 2 pairs of earrings; one pair of oversized metal leopard-print earrings, and a shoulder sweeping pair of open heart with long chain earrings. I test drove the metal hoops today and they looked fierce. Just be warned they are heavy, so make sure you have strong earlobes.
