Now all your clothes can hold an iPod nano

Ever wish you could walk around (or jog, or whatever) with your iPod nano, but don't like holding it, and are appalled by those ugly armbands Nike makes? Fortunately for you, a new clip makes it possible to wear your iPod with anything.

The secret is ModYFire iWear. It's essentially a little clip, designed by Peter Zaolt Korean, that can hold your iPod through any item of clothing.

My favorite suggestion on how to wear the device is definitely the guy at right in white turtleneck. He looks like one of the pilots from Starfighter -- that dorky 80s movie about how some high school guy kid saves the world aliens and total destruction.

While it'd be a bargain at any price, at $25 a piece, the iWear clip is well within everyone iPod owner's price range.

Plus, you can look like a sci-fi action hero -- bonus!

Seven Days of Style: i-catching iPods

Filed under: Holiday Style, Handbags, Accessories

i-catching iPodsWe know that the iPod in its purest form is perfect -- black or white goes with everything -- and sure, we love those shiny shiny metallic colors of the Nano, but just like everything else in our stylish lives, we love to accessorize. With the iPod, we can either let the iPod be an accessory all by itself, or embellish it in all kinds of twinkly bling, designer duds, and flirty fashions. Styledash did a little shopping around the web and points you to some things we found that will make your iPod absolutely i-catching. (Consider this a Holiday shopping guide -- if you click on the individual items in the picture, you can find out where to buy.)

Sunday - We'll start by going all-in with the King of Bling, Swarovski, which Crystalmini has taken and used to adorn iPods with thousands of tiny crystals -- "one for every song" in your iPod. Your iPod can be all one color, one of a number of pre-made prints, or can even be personalized with initials or custom designs. I'll take one with an "SJG!" That is, if I had $1,499!

Monday - I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this one yet, but TuneBuckle lets you attach your iPod to a belt. If you want to go discreet, TuneBuckle even has a buckle called Full Metal Jacket that hides your iPod behind a metal plate.

Tuesday - Let's just call this the Thomas Pink Affair, because just like an affair, it's dashing on the surface, hiding something naughty underneath. This tie from English designer Thomas Pink hides your iPod on the backside.

Hotness for your iPod

toteplus iPod case, miro goldWhile I am a little wary of products of that turn your iPod into strange versions of regular accessories, like an entire handbag that very uselessly does nothing but showcase your little musicmaker, I am certainly all for functional accessories for your iPod, like carrying cases.

TotePlus is a line of leather accessories made to protect and carry iPods and cell phones. Currently, the designer makes simple leather cases for Motorola RAZR phones (in pink, to match your pink RAZR of course!), as well as several different designs for the iPod. Hey! don't assume that my favorite is the "Pine" case that has a retro floral print on a leather base just because it's pink! I happen to be partial to the Miro case for the regular iPod in gold, okay?!?!

All of the cases from TotePlus are $45.

TechStyle: Dressing up your Apple

case-mate macbook or powerbook handleWe've covered all sorts of accessories for our tech-ish lifestyles, and we've cetainly given love to those things that help us stylishly carry our laptops. However, if you're a MacBook carrying Apple lover, then you might not want to hide your baby in a bag. Case-Mate makes these cool little things called Handle-It that attach to either a MacBook or a PowerBook, allowing you to carry just your laptop and show off the sleekness of the machine of itself.

The Handle-It also "doubles as a passive heat sink with fins, promoting better airflow," and allowing "your laptop to run cooler, maximizing it's performance." When you're not carrying your laptop around, the handle converts into a stand. When the laptop sits on the desktop, the Handle-It folds under and converts into an ergonomic stand.

Case-Mate also has other leather accessories for laptops, PDAs, and iPods.

Kate Spade iPod Shuffle case is on sale for summer

kate spade iPod Shuffle caseDesigners are making room for their fall inventory, so summer stuff is on sale in a big way, and a lot of the stuff is actually seasonless, like a carrying case for an iPod Shuffle.

Kate Spade has small cases from the fun and functional Broome Street line on sale from $45 down to $23. The case is cowhide leather, has a back flap closure with a snap, has opening in both and back, and a wrist strap. It comes in multiple colors, but of course, I like pink.
