Jane Fonda - Still Sexy at 71

Just in case you needed an inspiration to get ready for swimsuit weather: See Jane go.

Jane Fonda stole the show at the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS 23rd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition in New York this week, throwing off a fur coat to reveal red and black exercise togs. We're talking real exercise wear -- not yoga pants and a baggy T-shirt, but a leotard and tights. She then led a mini-workout that showed age 71 can still look amazing.

Back in the 1980s, Fonda's workout videos sold millions of copies and women around the nation copied her high-cut bodysuits and spandex legging-looks.

She also always knew how to work a belt -- a great technique still for quickly "shedding" a few pounds no matter your age.

Fonda reports on her blog that she had a blast doing the show, and helping her team from "33 Variations" raise close to $200,000 for charity.

How does she do it? She reports a nap before the show was a good call.

If she's not inspiration enough for how to age gracefully, check out the photos in this gallery of sexy women in their 60s.

Sexy Stars in their 60s

Helen Mirren has played a royal so often that she could probably take over for a real one, but she apparently hasn't got a bit of the Queen's stuffiness. The Academy Award-winner has been everyone from a naked housewife (in "Calendar Girls") to a tough-as-nails detective (in "Prime Suspect"), and even at 63, is confident enough to walk the red carpet in this figure-hugging white dress at the premiere of her new film "State of Play".

Don't call her granny, gray-haired or anything that even hints that she's something less than fab. At 69, Tina Turner still has a great growl, glorious gams and gyrations that could kill. And the singer, who shimmered (and shimmied) in gold leggings and matching Christian Louboutin heels during her 50th Anniversary tour stop in London, is not alone. Vacationing with her husband on Saint Barths, 62-year-old Soap star Susan Lucci showed off her fabulous bod in this itsy-bitsy green bikini.

The one and only Grace Jones took to the stage at Camden's Roundhouse in London and wowed the crowd with both her performance and her physique! Now 60 years old, the former model and Andy Warhol muse still has to-die-for legs and a sense of style all her own.

Once the princess of punk, Debbie Harry, at 63, is now the embodiment of Baby Boom chic. Of course, no matter how (um) old she gets, the Blondie front-woman will still rock out and will never give up her signature yellow mane.

Taking a dip during her Hawaiian vacation, Goldie Hawn looked sexy and much younger than her 63 years.

It's hard to say if Mia Farrow is better known as an actress (everything from "Rosemary's Baby" to a baker's dozen Woody Allen films) or her spectacular romances (marriages to Frank Sinatra and Andre Previn, and a fabulously sordid split with Allen). Still, at 63, the single mother-of-14 shown at Hong Kong International Airport is so burrowed in humanitarian work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and an activist against the genocide in Darfur, that Time named her one of 2008's 100 most influential people.

The most successful female recording artist ever, 18 No. 1 hits in the U.S. and 70 Top-10 hits since 1964, 64-year-old Diana Ross is still supremely cool. In 2007, she had the finalists on "American Idol" rocking her songs. In 2008, she not only captured a BET Lifetime Achievement Award presented by her five kids and Stevie Wonder but she also headlined at Radio City Music Hall in "Divas with Heart."

She was immortalized as the delicately beautiful Lara in the 1965 romance, "Dr. Zhivago," and in the nearly 45 years since, Julie Christie pictured here at the 2008 Academy Awards -- has clearly lost none of her allure. The It-girl of her generation, she's kept a lower profile in recent years, making only a handful of movies. She returned to the spotlight in 2005's "Away From Her," winning raves for her haunting portrait of a woman lost to Alzheimers, and in 2007, at 66, marrying for the first time.

Flatter Your Figure - Grandma Gets Gorgeous

Filed under: Celebrities with Style, Flatter Your Figure

Often, fashion trends focus on a very specific demographic. A very, young, very thin demographic. And to be honest, we aren't willing to define beauty in those terms -- beautiful women can be found at any age, and at any size. Sometimes, though, they just need a little help figuring out how to best flaunt what they've got.

Jane Fonda: you can't say that on television

Filed under: Videos, Celebrities with Style

Jane Fonda used some colorful language on the this morning's Today Show. I sure hope they did some serious clearance work to make sure that Jane could drop the "C" word on television. Otherwise, the FCC is going to have to raid their studios and put Matt Lauer in a head lock. Of all the four letter words -- and there are some juicy ones out there -- c*nt is on the short list of words I try to forget, so I never accidentally say it on national TV.

Seriously though, how is it that Janet Jackson's partially covered boob puts the FCC in an uproar and Jane Fonda gets to drop a C-bomb on the Today Show? Don't tell me Fonda gets a pass because she's referencing the Vagina Monolouges. This is not "high art" people, this is the Today Show with Meredith Vieira -- and on Valentines Day no less!? I almost choked on my Cheerios when I saw it.

Fonda and Field's aging pact

Actresses Jane Fonda and Sally Field have entered into a rather unusual pact. Both women have agreed that they will not have any more cosmetic surgery. At 69, Fonda has spent the better part of the last 30 years fighting for a youthful face and body. But she says that things have changed, and now she wants to age gracefully. In an interview with contactmusic.com, Fonda said: "I realized that I'm going to be 70 in a year, and I have chosen not to have any more plastic surgery. Sally Field and I have kind of made a pact about that. We need women friends, women who challenge us."

Wonder if they could convince Janice Dickinson to get in on that pact...

I have no love for nude hose

It's a dilemma that plagues womankind: Is it better to go bare-legged or to wear hose?

The answer unfortunately depends on the circumstances. For instance, if you have a important business meeting to attend, nude hose are probably the way to go. But if it's something a little more casual -- like a cocktail party in the winter or a wedding on a chilly day, you're better off going bare-legged than subjecting other to the shiny-sausage casing abomination we know as nude hose.

Why do I say this? Well, the main reason is that I believe that nude hose look truly awful. Don't believe me? Well, how about:

1. Tess Megill in Working Girl

Good movie, Hunky Harrison Ford, but unforgivably bad 80s business fashions.

2. Jane Fonda's workout videos

Love her or hate her, no one can defend her work-out wear.

3. Sophia Petrillo from The Golden Girls

Don't get me wrong, I love The Golden Girls, but emulating retired-Floridan fashions is not something I can condone.
