Who wants to look skinnier in their jeans? We do, we do!

Some clothing companies call themselves green after making just a little effort to be more eco-friendly, but James Jeans just keeps improving. Co-founder and creative director of the line, Seun Lim, is moving swiftly forward, incorporating more eco-friendly practices each season.

There are so many different types of jeans that it could really make a girl crazy. Let's cut to the chase. There are four crucial pairs that we should all have in our closets.

No it isn't a new bio on the Hilton sisters. It's Rich & Skinny jeans. The company, which was founded by Michael Glasser (founder of Seven for all Mankind and Citizens of Humanity) and Joie Rucker (of Joie Jeans and head designer of Levi's and Guess), has come up with a brilliant new website.

We all know what a muffin top is, and we're pretty sure that nobody's a fan. Almost anyone can be a victim -- very few people, regardless of size, are free of pudge down near their hips, and the wrong pants paired with the wrong top is all you need to cause a bit of oozing. Fortunately, the right pants and top can help!

Most of us in the world of fashion were slightly taken aback when Katie Holmes started sporting what looked like her husband's jeans, pegged and rolled to the ankle. We were sure it was a fluke, but she kept showing up in them, and before long, we stopped being surprised. Heck, we even stopped making faces about it.

Now, we're not saying that this is likely, or even possible, but let's just consider for one moment that the earth spins off of its axis and somehow distressed jeans go completely out of fashion. Would you ever have thought that an entire whole group of skilled artisans would suddenly be out of work? That's right, there's actually a factory in Kentucky full of specially-trained jean rippers that are responsible for carefully destroying high-end denim for brands like Rock and Republic. It's an art, or at least a craft.

We've always felt slightly weird about paying more for jeans that have been professionally "distressed," not on principle mind you, but just because we feel self-conscious that our designer rips and holes look like we're trying too hard. Now that we know serious craftsmen are on the job, we kinda feel guilty about not liking the pre-worn look. WTF? This is so obviously wrong.

It's like this. The jacket was too long so they decided to cut it. Then, while they got ready to cut it, they had seven martinis and decided it would be really funny if they just cut some of it off. We can just see this being a good idea at like, 3am:

"Yeah, you know...like coattails...but on the sides...of this denim jacket...with three quarter sleeves and an awkward, sideways belly-flap."

But that idea should have been trumped in the morning.

Is this Levi's ad campaign for real? Or is it part of an underground October Fool's Day movement that we're not aware of?

In order to promote their 501 jeans -- a style that probably doesn't even need an ad campaign because it's such a staple of the American wardrobe -- Levi's has decided to whip out an e-card marketing program that's so shocking and tasteless, it's hard to believe. So how does it work? You send a friend an email, in which a beast pops out of a pair of 501s and starts talking. Brilliant, no?

Usually, we're all about clever innuendo, subtle phallic references -- you name it, we'll laugh at it. But this new ad campaign for Levi's 501s displays little or none of that. It's a straight-up, in your face penis joke that is so lacking in nuance, it makes you want to cringe. Kinda like that movie Teeth scarred us for life -- or at least a couple of hours -- this campaign for Levi's might actually be turning us off to one of the most classic and endearing styles of denim the world has ever known. Keep it in your pants, marketing team.

OK... maybe we'll send it to a couple of friends -- but that's all. We swear.

Ah, the fall wedding season. If you're getting married, you probably have a ton of wedding-related events to attend. As it gets a little chilly, you kinda start to wish you could just wear your blue jeans.

Enter a totally ridiculous solution: Wedding Belle Blues. Here you can find several different styles of jeans adorned with lace and ribbons to make them...bridely.

This may seem to be a crime against denim, but weddings are somewhat costume-y events. You might never, never wear those jeans again (oh god please don't), but they are, in fact, appropriate just this once.

So. Our economy sucks. No, really! Just ask these guys. And as a consequence, that extra fifty bucks one has leftover after paying all of their bills is probably going towards a gas stipend or in their savings account.

But we're kind of reckless and we all love to consume, especially things that are not in our budget, so clothing brands are coming up with all types of absurd marketing plans to convince us that even in this recession, we can not live with out designer duds.

Case in point: Levi's will be joining the Logo unit for MTV networks for a campaign entitled, "Logo Unbuttoned." It gets its name from the Levi's 501 campaign that first debuted in July, "Live Unbuttoned." So, to review: Levi's has temporarily hijacked the title of the gay and lesbian oriented Logo network so it can "be the sole sponsor of a program block that Logo plans to introduce on Oct. 12, "Saturday Nights Unbuttoned Presented by Levi's," which will run from 1 to 3 a.m. on Sunday mornings."

Will our ultra amazing gay and lesbian brothers and sisters be more inclined to purchase Levi's 501 jeans once the campaign ends on October 12th? No. But we give the denim label an 'A' for effort.

What makes a good pair of jeans? A comfy waist? The right fit in the thighs? If you ask Heidi Klum, the answer is simple -- "It's very important to have a little bit of something fun on the butt."

At an event last week celebrating the launch of this seasons Heidi Klum by Jordache denim line, Heidi was all about the booty talk, saying, "The first thing girls do is turn around and look in the mirror and they look at what their butts look like. It has to look right and as perfect as possible."

In between the hubub of Fashion Week parties and runway shows were celebrity meet and greets -- events where designers or celebrities with clothing lines mixed with press and fans. My favorite was the one by Heidi Klum held at Bloomingdales in New York City's Upper West Side. She was super nice to all the reporters, switching effortlessly from English to German depending on the nationality of whoever she was speaking with.
