Filed under: Shoes, Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style, Must Haves

There were all kinds of fun activities for the stars backstage at Fashion Week. And one of them was brought to us by the very company which brought us the 4Nite glow in the dark flip flop and who has just released the sexy FIT sandals above for spring: Havaianas. A whole slew of sexy stars got crafty with their limited edition Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Havaiana using mini-initials, studs, and Swarovski crystals, and we have the scoop.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's going as Angelina Jolie for Halloween

Not that this is a terribly original idea, but we love when celebs spoof other celebs. Jennifer Love Hewitt remarked to a reporter that she and her fiance, Ross McCall, are considering going dressed as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for Halloween this year.

Don't get busted in bad jeans

Ouch, this is bad. Like really bad. Jennifer Love Hewitt looks like a beautiful bombshell from the neck up, but from the neck down she looks the standard Mom next door who is about to plop down in her garden to pull weeds. I won't take "relaxing" or "being casual" as an excuse for this pitiful outfit because she has on a full face of make-up, so clearly she thinks she looks fine.

The reason J-Love looks so bad is simple. It's her jeans -- her generic, shapeless, unflattering, horrific jeans. These jeans aren't doing her any favors, (well they are keeping her from walking around nude, which is a favor to me) they make her legs like two blue rectangles in motion.

You see, J-Love's body is the classic pear shape. Pear shapes usually have a curvy bottom half with full hips and thighs, narrow shoulders, and a graceful and slender neck. With so many good qualities up top, why on earth would you want to draw attention to the bottom half? Jenny needs to face the music and buy some flattering clothing. J-Love if you are reading, here is what you need to do:

For starters you need jeans with a flare, they will even you out to prevent your thighs from looking so ... you know. Another something to look into is whiskering (those pale little white lines strategically placed on jeans). Whiskering is truly a miracle, usually placed around the pelvic and thigh area, it shaves off a good 5 pounds when done properly.

And while we're on the topic, that turtleneck isn't doing you any favors either. If you see paragraph three you will know that your neck is one of the good features and I see you have a killer rack too ... so make that neckline plunge and show us what you've got.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's new "Timeless" fashion line

Jennifer Love Hewitt, the actress you may know from TV's Ghost Whisperer (but most likely from Party of 5 and I Know What You Did Last Summer), has -- just like all the other celebrities -- started a fashion line.

It's called "Timeless," because she wants to create clothes that are...timeless. By creating "a fashion collection that speaks of elegance and lasting style, but still shows off today's fashions and trends," Hewitt hopes to achieve the same thing as every fashion designer that's ever lived.

Somehow, given the recent lukewarm attempts by some of her famous actress colleagues, I doubt Hewitt will revolutionize the fashion industry. No news on which retailer is going to pick up the collection, but if the line sells, expect to see her branch out into accessories, health and beauty.

I know it helps generate interest when a celebrity attaches his or her name to a clothing line, but, after the buzz dies down, it seems most of these collections don't sell. How long before retailers will stop stifling the fashion industry with these uninspired creations by people who don't know what they're doing?

Underwear pops up on Melrose Place

Filed under: Stores We Love, Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

In need of soft undies and T-shirts ? Hanes has opened a pop-up "Comfortique" that will showcase Hanes ComfortSoft intimate apparel. The Hanes Comfortique will be open on Melrose Place in Los Angeles' from April 19 to April 21. Jennifer Love Hewitt was the host for an invite-only 'sneak peek' preview party on April 18. Alas, she won't be hanging around the Comfortique. The pop-up store will include fashion exhibits and complimentary bra fittings as well as showcasing the soft and cozy underthings.
