I want that! Rachel Bilson's entire look

Its official – Rachel Bilson just knows how to pick 'em. At the 2008 Teen Choice Awards in LA, the actress chose a turquoise Brian Reyes asymmetrical, one-shouldered dress (do we smell a trend brewing here with Blake and Rach?). It was fun and flirty – absolutely aces for this event.

Not to name drop but she accessorized with some of our personal favs – Lanvin sandals, a Marni clutch, and Amrapali gems. Gorg! After this, we just cannot wait for this girl's line with DKNY to come out!

• Brian Reyes dress, Brian Reyes.com, Priced upon request

• Marni clutch, Marni, $1,960

• Lanvin multi strap sandals, Barney's, $320

• Amrapali earrings, Amrapali Outlet's, Priced upon request

Wonder Woman: The sweater

This sweater, or jumper as the English call it, is a super tribute to Earth's mightiest lady hero, Wonder Woman. Yes, it is freaking cool.

The designer Kirsty created the pattern out of a basic design in an old Woolworths catalog from the 70's. She worked on the sweater for 14 months. That's fierce.

The sweater has proven very popular and has turned Kirsty into something of an internet celebrity among knitters, geeks and fashionistas. She has been bombarded with numerous requests for the pattern.

Love your pet? Wear him!

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing

I have two dogs and I love them like they're my kids (other than the whole sticking them in a crate thing -- I hear you're not supposed to do that with human children). However, when I saw the following headline, I thought that maybe, just maybe, this couple had taken things a little too far:

Hair of the dog: The animal lovers who turned their dead pets' coats into woolly jumpers.

Thanks for that, Daily Mail.

But, actually, it's not as creepy as it sounds. Beth and Brian Willis learned from their breeder that their white Samoyed's fur makes great clothing, so while the dog was still alive, they had a sweater knitted from the fur she had shed. It's apparently extremely warm and durable and softer than alpaca. They went on to have clothing knitted from their other dog's fur, too -- I'm sure she was feeling left out.

According to the article, making clothing from the fur of long-haired dogs is fairly common (Did you know that? I didn't!). I guess it makes sense -- instead of clogging up your vacuum with dog hair, create some furry fashion. I'm just not sure I'm ready to wear my pooches in any form, no matter how cozy it might be. How about you?

Dress of the Day: Juicy Couture Scoop Shift Dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

Juicy Couture Scoop Shift DressWhile summer never seems to end here in LA, there is a transition period from hot to fall everywhere else. It makes shopping for new clothes difficult. You can't buy true "fall" clothes or you'll end up sweating on those Indian summer days. You can't stock up at the summer sales because you'll be shivering in that little white eyelet babydoll when it's 55 degrees outside in the morning.

Something like Juicy Couture's Scoop Shift Dress is perfect for this seasonal limbo. When days are warm, you can slip a cami or thin tank top underneath (or play it dangerously and wear nothing underneath). When the day is cool, the shift dress acts more like a "jumper," so you can put on a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath. The dress is made of 100% cotton, which will keep you cool, but the dark charcoal gray is a color that works for fall.

Dress available for $248 at StandardStyle.com

Dress of the Day: Ivy Jumper

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

ivy baby doll jumper in black satinThanksgiving is only four days away, and whether you're hosting or guest-ing, you've got to think about what to wear. Even if it's a family gathering, forget about going in that foda-coma-comfortable tracksuit -- there's bound to be pictures taken, and you 've got to look great. This week. we'll pick a few dresses that will do just that -- make you look great -- and give you room for second helpings. Maybe even thirds.

A jumper, while not my personal choice for dresses, is a good idea because there is absolutely no waistline to butt up against (pardon the pun). You don't have to look like you just stepped out of the BabyGap catalog with the Ivy Babydoll Jumper. It comes in four colors, the best of which is the shiny black satin, perfect for a Holiday spirit. Pair it with a lightweight long sleeve t-shirt, or a tanktop if it gets as warm in your house with all those people, like it does at mine.

The Ivy Babydoll Jumper is $285 at Intermix.

Return of the jumper

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing

I usually think of jumpers as those things I was forced to wear until I was old enough to tell my mom to go away because I was picking out my own clothes (in other words, age 3).

But apparently the jumper is not just for kids. As Bill Cunningham notes in Sunday's New York Times style section, the cooler weather suddenly means that ladies of all ages are eschewing the undersized top for a jumper ... on the streets of Manhattan, anyway.

While I'm willing to allow the return of the jumper, I shudder to think what this might lead to. I mean, what's next? The security blanket as this fall's hottest accessory?

Mod, minimalist jumper

The Parameter Jumper is a throwback to a 1960's style, but it has been updated just enough not only to look more contemporary, but to look great, too. The dress has a slightly tucked waist and comes with a flattering belt to highlight the area in a move away from the more boxy 60's look. Angled pockets make it visually interesting, as well as practical, and the two-tone shift style, with a darker layer extending beneath the lighter one, adds dimension to the otherwise unremarkable gray tones. The dress is pictured with black tights, but as fall approaches, pairing this dress with some high, funky boots and a sparkly bracelet is the best way to go. Price: $274.
