'Army Wives' Star Kim Delaney's Trout Pout - Lip Injections, Much?

Putting your money where your mouth is. Literally! Photo: AP

We received a tip from a StyleList staffer that Kim Delaney's lips have taken on a life of their own. It's a little condition we like to call "Trout Pout" (when lips are artificially enhanced to the point that they curl back unnaturally, resembling those of a fish).

On her show, "Army Wives," Kim's character sometimes speaks without her mouth even moving.

Granted, there's plenty of pressure on actresses to nip, tuck and stay forever young, but when your lips outshine your acting, maybe you've gone too far.

According to the Aesthetic Surgery Education & Research Foundation, 9 out of 10 injection patients tell their friends about their plumping, so hopefully Kim's friends aren't afraid to give honest feedback. The most likely candidate for injections also happens to be working, married females with one to three kids. So at least Kim's keeping it in character.

Are Kim's lips sexy or silly? Leave a comment and let us know.

Instead of accentuating cheekbones for a contoured result, celebs are opting for a plumper, rounder look. The Daily Mail's The New Cheeky Girls: Why are so many stars plumping to have the 'pillow face'? begs the question, is this puffy, more filled-out face the the new Holy Grail?

Is Preventative Botox Right for You?

A woman undergoes a Botox procedureIf this economy has been spreading worry wrinkles across you forehead at an alarming rate, yet you're still in your mid 20s, you might be a candidate for something doctors are calling preventative Botox. That's right, apparently it's never too early to start injecting Botox, fillers, etc. into your face if you're of a mind to -- because it can supposedly preempt deep wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Evolence Gives New Meaning to Pork Spending

Filed under: Skin Care, Beauty Tips

If you haven't heard already, there's a new filler in town -- Evolence -- and it's about to take the cosmetic procedure world by storm. The latest wrinkle filler is all natural and that makes it a bit controversial.
Evolence is made of purified porcine collagen, a.k.a. Miss Piggy. It's commonly used to plump up laugh lines (nasolabial folds), the same way doctors use hyalurionic-acid fillers like Juvederm or Restylane.

We asked Dr. Ariel Ostad, a New York City dermatologist what all the fuss was about. "Other fillers tend to cause bruising or swelling at the injection site, but with Evolence, patients get great results with little to no downtime. These results last six to 12 months and the cost is comparable to the other fillers on the market. Plus, there's no need for patients to come in to the office for pre-injection allergy testing," says Dr. Ostad.

When we asked if observant Jewish patients were concerned about the potentially taboo source of the collagen, Dr. Ostad explained that as long as the drug is used for medical purposes, and not ingested, it's 100% kosher. Looks like Evolence is going to be a big hit with the lunchtime procedure set -- not that we know anyone who would do that!
