Nixie Clothing makes kids eco-chic

Filed under: Kids and Babies, Style for a Cause

nixie eco chic clothing for kidsIn keeping with the theme of green for St. Patrick's Day, we're looking at some things that aren't physically green, but rather, enviromentally "green."

Nixie
clothing is a line of high-end children's fashions that is eco-conscious. Based in the UK, the company was started with the understanding that we often dress our children in mass-produced clothing that will eventually end up in landfills; not to mention that the conditions under which the clothing was manufactured are horrible, and might have been made by children. Nixie operates on the philosophy of sweat shop free and fair trade

The inspiration behind the designs was taken from nature: opening of flowers and the movement of butterfly wings. They use vintage fabrics that have been gathered over years, in combination with reconditioned textiles, i.e. "recycled."

Monogrammed sweaters for the classically chic kids

Filed under: Accessories, Clothing, Kids and Babies

lauren nicole monogrammed sweatersI've always thought of mongramming as either 1) a little arrogant and self-centered, or 2) a classic addition to clothing, accessories, and bath towels. For today, let's consider it classically chic for the sake of the kids in your life.

Lauren Nicole has little cable-knit sweater sets, not a cap sleeve with matching cardigan, but a cardigan and matching beanie, for kids. Though the sweater is nice enough, having it monogrammed with your favorite kid's initials is cute. Not only will he or she be ready to head out for brunch at the country club, but hopefully, they'll never lose their sweaters.

The sweaters are $38 and come in pale pink, baby blue, and white.

Burping cloths and such for the stylish baby

Filed under: Accessories, Kids and Babies

burping cloths from sandbox coutureMost of the time, we speak of fashion and style as it relates to women, sometimes to men, but rarely do we write about stylish kids and babies. Why? We have no answer for that, so consider this one of many posts about stylish kids. Babies and children can certainly be stylish, too, and we're not just talking about self-decorating their clothes with pureed squash and peas.

Sandbox Couture is a spacielty online boutique for children and babies that has some seriously cute stuff. They carry a number of high-end children's brands for clothing, as well as accessories that you'd never think could be fashionable. I mean, who knew you could get carry grocery-cart and restaurant high-stoll covers, let alone get them in oh-so-fabulous prints? My favorite things, of course, are the baby burping cloths that come in sets of two matching, but not identical prints, like floral and gingham. If you're going to be a good-looking MILF in your patent leater peep-toe pumps, your baby better look good when she's spitting up!
