Sex and the City sequel (not) coming soon!

sex and the city sequelSex and the City fans were beyond thrilled to hear that Kim Cattrall confirmed a sequel being in the works next summer. Actually, thrilled is an understatement -- they were busting out the cosmos and Manolos and planning movie release parties already! However, Sarah Jessica Parker brought us all crashing back down to Earth when she announced that she has no idea what Kim's talking about.

Five tips for age-defying beauty

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrities with Style, Beauty Tips

We at StyleList want you to be beautiful at any age. Here are our top 5 tips for age-defying beauty:

1. Moisturize moisturize moisturize with spf. Still young? Lucky you. Try Future E by L'Oreal.

2. Invest in a good eye cream, like one of Lancome's Primordiale Eye creams. Let a specialist at a department store help you pick which cream is right for your skin.

Bonus tip: Refrigerate it if you buy in bulk.

3. Sleep. If you follow this and the above two steps, you won't need to cake on the make-up; that will make you look ancient.

4. Betty Beauty.com has a secret you may have read about earlier...

5. Laugh. Your face is going to age, and you want the pretty lines, not the frowny-grimace lines. Laughter has been shown to improve your health and prolong your life--and you always look more beautiful when you smile!

The curtains gotta match the carpet

"I found a gray hair...in my hair...down there." -Samantha Jones, Sex and the City

It has plagued women for centuries. You start to go gray on top? No big deal. If it bothers you, you dye it. But you start to go gray down below? Where do you turn? What do you do? Who can you possibly risk telling?

Also, many blondes do a little cheating up top, but what, are you going to take your hairstylist aside and ask him if he does any under-the-table treatments? Marilyn Monroe knew your pain. The curtains gotta match the carpet.

Sex and the City DVD release party - not fab

Sarah Jessica Parker was fabulous as always at the Sex and City big ol' DVD release party. But, unfortunately, insider reports say that the party in and of itself was not fab at all.

Sex and the City premiere style brings it home

Sarah Jessica Parker might have brought out the big hat making guns for the Sex and the City premiere in London, but she went all totally all out for the movie premiere's return home to New York City.

Kim Cattrall's enormous floppy hat is stupid, but still a good reminder

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrities with Style

kim cattrall giant hat
I am all in favor of wide-brimmed straw hats, but Kim Cattrall's Sex and the City character in a hat so enormous it could pick up satellite signals from space was a little much. Does she have to turn sideways to walk through doorways?

Nevertheless, seeing the exaggerated hat was a good reminder about sun protection. Because winter days have fewer sunlight hours and the air is cold, it's pretty easy to forget that we need to wear moisturizers with SPF every day, and if we head out on a resort getaway to either sand or snow, the full battery of all-over sunscreens.

And of course, if you want to wear a straw hat in the winter, we won't be mad at you.

It's official: Sex and the City will be a movie

Well, seeing as Sarah Jessica Parker's post-Sex and the City fashion career isn't off to a great start, I suppose it's only natural that she'd push so hard to make a movie from her big hit TV series.

While rumors about a possible movie have been circulating since before the series finale (and were in full force early last month), this is the first official confirmation that the project is actually going to happen. Originally Kim Catrall was holding out for more money, which stalled the movie, and then there was talk the film might go forward regardless -- just without her character. But fans can rejoice, as it appears the movie will include all of the show's main characters, played by the original actresses.

Filming is scheduled to start mid-September, so I'd be looking for a release date in Spring/Summer 2008. Until then, you can watch re-runs ad nasuem on TBS. Hooray!

The *real* Sex and the City

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Kim Cattrall might have put the kibosh on a Sex and the City movie, but that doesn't mean that the show can't have a second life on the small screen. Two years after the hit show's final (and might I add disappointing) episode, HBO is considering reviving the concept with a reality-based show. According to HBO producers, the show "will follow the lives of a group of glamorous and dynamic girlfriends in their 20s, living in Manhattan." So far, several big name "it-girls" have already been asked to star in the show. These fashionable ladies include: Calvin Klein publicist and self-proclaimed Immanuel Kant fan, Annelise Peterson, Harrison & Shriftman publicist Ferebee Bishop, and Vanity Fair executive fashion editor Alexis Bryan. For the most part, these Manhattan-style it-girls have declined to participate in the show.
