Amazing Technicolor Pant-Dress
Behold the lame!

The accented 'e' is not on our keyboards...it's so wrong but so right.

The outrageous item above is for sale from Cozettescloset--now there's a production of Les Miserables we'd like to see!

Tip of the day: Concert gear & supplies

Filed under: Accessories, Clothing, Shoes, Jeans, Cosmetics, Skin Care, Style Tip of the Day

Please don't stop the music! We had a great weekend. We danced our butts off, sang our hearts out and probably had one too many beers at the Glow in the Dark tour in illy Philly on Saturday night. But as always, we were thinking of our dear reader's and before we went in to enjoy the likes of Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco (heart!), N.E.R.D. and the brilliant Kayne, we took a tour of tailgate heaven to see what's hot and what's not for concert gear this year.

Here is a breakdown of the ideal concert attire:

Croc "Spoof" Ads Even More Irritating Than Their Shoes

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

How does it make you feel every time you see someone who thinks they're "fun" or "funky" or "original" just 'cause they're wearing a pair of Crocs (like everyone else in their suburb)?

Irritated? Offended? Ashamed for humanity?

Whatever that sensation, multiply it by a thousand, and that's how you'll feel watching these "spoof" ads that the Croc people have launched on their Web site. The ads are supposed to imitate the popular Mac vs PC TV spots, in which the Mac guy is young and cool -- especially compared to the his nerdy, older PC counterpart.

However the Croc guy in these ads is not cool, but instead a grown man who insists on dressing like a teenage stoner and wearing children's shoes. Bleh.

British Air Force launches lame fashion line

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing

Britain's Royal Air Force, in what appears to be a completely random move, has a launched a self-proclaimed "Ralph Lauren-style" clothing line for men and women. The goal is to get some good PR for the organization, and, well, I'm not sure what else.

As proof that the military is, indeed, "with it," the organization feels that "The States look like they are going to go absolutely mad over it because they love anything royal and anything British." This according Nick Adams, managing director of JOI -- the clothing firm partnering with the RAF on the venture.

And that is was true circa 1998, so they're not totally off base.

You can peruse the collection of bikinis, t-shirts, leather flying jackets and more -- all adorned with at least the RAF logo, if not the motto, "rise about the rest" -- here. Or just know that it looks like a 10-year-old JCrew catalog, and you won't have to bother.

Lamé leggings: so bad they're good

Filed under: Stores We Love, Clothing

Yesterday I visited the American Apparel store in Richmond, Virginia to see what was new in the world of labor-friendly apparel. After trying on a few basic cotton tops, my eyes drifted toward the bathing suit section of the shop, which was covered, floor to ceiling, with lamé swimsuits, hot pants and leggings.

Just for kicks, I tried on one of each shiny garment. My conclusion was somewhat surprising: gold lamé leggings can look mighty fierce. I faced a dilemma: do I buy the lamé leggings or do I not buy the lamé leggings?

After taking a few moments of reflection on what my legs looked like dipped in gold fabric (very nice!), I decided that I would have to resist the urge to open my wallet for something so impractical.

We all know what is true in this situation: no self-respecting woman over the age of 20 should wear gold lamé leggings.

But gold lamé headbands? Now that's a different story entirely!
