Filed under: Clothing, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

So wait, is there a global economic crisis or not? Because everywhere we look, we see designer leggings for $100 or more! How can recessionistas pay for this craziness?

Tip of the day: Chain, chain, chain

Filed under: Fashion Week, Style Tip of the Day

Chains are often associated with the manliest of men. Like bikers. Or 50 Cent. But this season, designers are turning that notion on its head. Chains adorned cozy Moschino cardigans, necklaces at Tracy Reese and golden Givenchy wedges making them more goddess than grunge.

And of course some took it in a more literal direction. LaRok's badass blazer was made even more so thanks to a half dozen chains swinging across the front necklace style.

Whether girl and sweet or totally ass kickin' we like chains for everything come spring.

Dress of the Day: Costa Tunic

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

la rok costa tunicIt's a little chilly to wear La Rok's Costa Tunic right now at the tail end of January, even in Los Angeles. However, since it is a tunic, layering the cotton tunic in coral, aquamarine and gray with a cardigan or jacket and wearing it over a pair of jeans will be perfect for carrying you through to Spring. Then, once the warmer weather hits, and if you're daring enough, you can wear the mid-thigh-hitting tunic as sundress. A pair of espadrilles would be positively smashing with it.

The tunic/dress is available from Anthropologie for $158.

Skulls for seven days of the week

skull charm bikiniWe barely caught a glimpse of Kate Moss in Alexander McQueen's skull scarf, and perhaps the double whammy with the new Pirates movie, but suddenly the entire planet wants to wear skulls, whether it's a print on a fabric, or a charm on jewelry. Here are seven days of skulls just for us, dashing style.

Sunday - We know that the skull theme will likely go into fall, but you can certainly start easy in the summer. Relax by the pool on Sunday afternoon with a black bikini adorned with skull charms.

rocker skull tunicMonday - Back to the grind, but you can't get too crazy at the office. The Rocker tunic is just subtle enough to go into that meeting, but just creepy enough to keep that weirdo from accounting away from your desk.

Tuesday - LaRok's sheer crocheted skull tank here in black, but it also comes in a nude color called "dessert." Dessert?

dancing skulls necklaceWednesday - T. Cyia's Dancing Skulls necklace - the Opera length might be a little much (especially at $1100), but we're fine with the shorter version

paul frank skull teeThursday - Paul Frank is our friend, and though we love happy, smiling Julius the monkey, we're also loving a simple black t-shirt design called "Scurvy."

rock skull tankFriday - First it's happy hour, then off to the Sunset Strip for some rock and roll at The Whisky. Romeo and Juliet black ribbed skull tank, for the rocker chick in you.

rachel pally skull leggingsSaturday - Yeah, well we've seen these everywhere, and even though I am not a huge fan of leggings, let alone white ones, these are from Rachel Pally, current darling designer.
