As women, we want our mascara to be a macho man -- thick, long, long-lasting, conditioning and waterproof. Okay, maybe that was the wrong metaphor but regardless, we expect a lot out of our mascara but we might not be doing our part in meeting our partner half way.

Here are a few helpful hints to get the best show out of your favorite mascara.

Meet LashFusion

No lie -- when I saw my sister at Christmas, I thought she had sprung for collagen injections. It wasn't so much that her lips seemed fake, they just appeared considerably fuller than I remembered. Eventually my theory was torn to pieces when I later found out that the secret to her full new pout was LipFusion gloss.

Because my lips are on the full side alright, I haven't quite jumped onto the LipFusion bandwagon. That having been said, LashFusion, the newest product from the LipFusion folks, might be right up my alley. The all-in-one mascara strengthens and protects with micro-fibers to lengthen and volumize your fringe. LashFusion is also formulated with hydrolyzed keratin, natural camellia oil and vitamin B5 to condition your lashes while you are wearing the mascara.

Like LipFusion, LashFusion isn't cheap ($39), but if it works half as well as its lip-plumping sibling, I'd say this mascara is probably worth the price.
