Radley - Handbags that make us happy

Filed under: Handbags, Stores We Love, Accessories

As you've heard us say many times, we believe fashion should be fun. We want to wear things that make us smile; things that make us happy. Who wouldn't? And what's making us happy right now, you ask? Radley. Radley is making us positively giddy.

eBay WTF of the Day: Leather, fox, and failure

Here we are, a crime against leather and foxes alike.

Places fox fur does not belong:

The ocean.
Guernsey (there are no foxes on the isle of Guernsey).
All over a leather jacket. WTF?

It's like someone took a sort of ugly leather jacket and decided to "improve" it by putting a fox vest over it.

Victoria Beckham - Slick Spice StyleFoul!

Filed under: Celebrity Fashion Mistakes, Hair Cut and Style

We adored Vicky's short new hair at Fashion Week -- it was funky, sexy, and totally flattering. However, it turns out that, cute as it is, it has the possibility to go very, very wrong, as you see here at the launch of Victoria and David's new signature fragrance. Isn't part of the draw of super-short hair the fact that it can look wicked cute with very little work? So why, oh why, did she opt to slick it back like Pee Wee Herman??

Maybe it was so that her hair would look as slick as her shoes/boots/leggings. You'll have to click through the gallery to get the full effect. Oh, and for the record, we're not all that happy with Becks, either.

Cecelia's simple yet luxurious clutches

Filed under: Handbags, Celebrities with Style

The clutch is the bag to clutch these days, and if celebrities are any way to judge a trend, the vintagey-style Cecelia clutch is the one to want.

Cecelia was created in 2004 by Hillary Lammens, and the line includes clutches, belts and brooches, which can be worn on their own, or used to dress up the bags.

The bags are the big deal of the line. Lammens uses luxury materials like crocodile, stingray, snakeskin and our favorite white suede to create dressy, shimmery bags that work for an evening out, especially when you add a brooch to embellish. The simple designs can also work in the daytime, without making you look like you're doing the walk of shame from last night's party to today's lunch.

Like we said, celebrities love this line. In the gallery, some of Cecelia's fans, like Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr, Debra Messing, and Kourtney Kardashian, show you how they wear these pretty clutches.

Why aren't you wearing this? Corset with Buckle Belt

One of the fastest, easiest, and most effective ways to create a good waistline is by using a belt, especially a big, thick one that's really noticeable. We've seen some of the major corset belts around, and, while we like the look, we're a little concerned about whether we'd be able to sit in them.

This Corset with Buckle Belt, $24 at Urban Outfitters, looks like it would actually be wearable. It's wide, but not so enormous that it would interfere in our daily activities.

Ralph Lauren: Martinis you can't afford

Filed under: Haute Home, Daily Obsession

We know it seems like a strange time to take a break from reality and practice the blissful escapism that is the American dream -- but why the hell not fantasize about a martini shaker that you totally can't afford. This entire week, we've been daydreaming about retardedly expensive luxury items like Louis Vuitton yachts. Maybe it's the turmoil in the financial markets, or maybe this Ralph Lauren cocktail shaker really would make martinis taste $275 better than the ones at Target.

We can tell you one thing for sure -- pouring a martini from this leather-wrapped cocktail shaker would make you look a lot more like James Bond. Might even make important people crowd around you at parties. It certainly looks a lot more like our vision of the American dream. The one where we float around on a yacht all day wearing Polo shirts, drinking martinis with JFK and fixing the world's problems all day.

For $295, it better turn Smirnoff into Grey Goose.

The look of a grocery bag but infinitely more durable

Leather Grocery BagOne of the hottest trends -- that's the word, like it or not -- in the country right now is BYOGB, "bringing your own grocery bags." It has gone so far that designers like Natthakur London have been driven to make handbags that resemble the carriers of our supermarket deliciousness. Check out this leather grocery bag with old-school stripes.

According to the website, it was voted Number 1 in the "50 Best Christmas Gifts for Women" in the Independent's "The Information", which kind of baffles us. It's a nice bag and all, but aren't there nicer ones for Mom or Wife-y or Sis? Like... Louis? Also, the £140.00 (approximately $250) price tag is nothing to sneeze at.

Why aren't you wearing this? La Mer Paris Charm Watch

We know, we know -- you probably don't need to wear a watch anymore because you can always check the time on your cell. However, we still love them as a fashion accessory, if nothing else. And, maybe we're a tiny bit old fashioned, but it seems a lot more ladylike to subtly glance at your wrist for the time, rather than hauling out your BlackBerry.

That being said, if you're going to get a watch, but not need to wear it with everything, look for something you really love. We, personally, really love this La Mer Paris Charm Watch, available at Urban Outfitters (online only -- don't go to the brick and mortar!) for $95.

3.1 Phillip Lim's "Sophie" bag doesn't exist

Filed under: Handbags, Daily Obsession, Must Haves

When we came across this 3.1 Phillip Lim bag in the pages of In Style, we were instantly obsessed.

The cobalt blue and black leather. The chain strap. The haphazardly-arranged jewels.

However, after hunting online and around town, we couldn't find said bag anywhere.

Shoes of the Day: Moschino Cheap & Chic Soft Flat

moschino flatsThough we're inclined to run around all summer in nothing but the exact same pair of dark brown flip flops that "go with" everything from our ethnic print maxi dress to a pair of cut-offs, there are occasions when we may have to wear real shoes. It doesn't mean we have to be uncomfortable in a pair of skin-pinching, back-breaking stiletto heels. Moschino Cheap & Chic's flats are perfect for summer comfort because they are flat and have a rubber sole. The black and silver upper is made of leather and features a tiny strap to keep the shoes on your feet.

Moschino Cheap & Chic's black and silver flats are available from Revolve Clothing for $235.

Why aren't you wearing this? Eugenia Kim Chain Link Belt

Every closet needs a classic leather belt, that's for sure. And while a bright, funky, fun belt is a great addition to a lot of outfits, sometimes you need something in between boring and show-stopping. You need something that doesn't distract from your already fabulous outfit, but still shows off your rockin' personality.

That's why we have a bit of a belt crush on this Eugenia Kim Chain Link Belt, available for $187 at shopbop.com. Sure, it's a little pricey, but imagine how much use you'll get out of it. It's got enough interest to liven up a jeans and tee combo, but doesn't have so much going on that it can't be worn with a more vibrant outfit.
