As part of their attempt to launch themselves back out of their longtime fashion irrelevance, Reebok has opened a temporary 'pop-up store' in Manhattan named "Flash" -- how appropriate. The insta-store, only open for one month, is located at 169 Bowery and will be Reebok's outlet for top secret, limited edition styles that not even the savviest of sneaker insider has ever laid eyes on. Is Reebok actually onto something here?

As you've probably noticed, we're all about celebrity designers here at Style List, but somehow we never have very high expectations for their output. The latest collaboration between REM's Michael Stipe and classic high-end designer Lacoste is no exception. According to Rolling Stone, Stipe has put his creative touch on a new line of Lacoste's alligator-encrusted tennis shirts, and they're uhh -- how should we put this -- a little fugly unique.

Every once in a while, a product so outrageously extravagant and loud comes out that it boggles the mind that anyone would purchase it, braving the fiery death glares that they will surely face from strangers. A team-up between Samsonite and Swarovski have come up with such a product... Behold, the Samsonite Black Label trunk, covered in crystals and -- get this -- only 30 are in existence. Now, this thing is massive, so there's no way to subtly flash it like it's darling diamond earrings hiding under your hair until you pull it up. This thing is immediately and absolutely in-your-face and begging to be kicked over and smashed in a jealous rampage.

Lookout Malibu Barbie, you may have some fierce competition for Ken's heart coming your way.

Katy Perry, you know, the girl who sings about kissing other girls and likes to wear tons of retro duds, well, she is being immortalized in the form of a doll. Donning a ivory shift dress, over-sized belt, black pantyhose, and bright red lips, the doll will retail for $49.99 and looks a lot like the doll in Perry's music video for U.R. So Gay.

The mini Perry dolls will be sold in a limited number of 500. Of that, the singer's record label, Capital Music Group, will be distributing 150 of the plastic figurines to "tastemakers, media and other interested parties." The dolls are expected to sell-out within one to two days of their release. So if you're interested, keep your eyes and ears peeled.

In the past we've tried to get into the reusable bottle thing, but for one reason or another -- the creepy feeling of drinking out of a metal bottle, the giant drippy mouth of some of those plastic bottles, plus the shaggy, hemp-scented aura of having something from a camping supply store on our desk -- we just never got into it.

We are pleased to admit that the CamelBak bottle changed us.

Good-bye Gap and hello Celine!

Pheobe Philo is clawing back to get into high fashion no more. The former Chloé creative director has just been given the job of design head at LVMH's Celine brand.

On her new job, Philo says: "I can't wait to step back into the studio and begin creating designs which will reinvigorate the brand, get customers excited about the product and work with a team that are incredibly serious and passionate about their work."

As was mentioned earlier, Philo had been keeping busy with a "secret" job designing for Gap's European operation. Le sigh. Those limited-edition collections will never be the same without her. Au revoir.

Here's a way to create buzz for your fashion line -- make a really hot collection, then announce that every single item is limited edition. There's nothing that makes consumers want to spend more than showing them what they soon will not be able to have if they don't whip out those credit cards, pronto. MoonSpoon Saloon is pioneering the future of fashion with their entire limited edition label.

Maybe it's the magic words "limited edition" or that it has the word "summer" in the name, but we're totally having to fight the urge to spend $126 on this Shiseido make up kit.

Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page put this palette together, and the description on Sephora.com is filled with glowy-this and shimmery-that. Plus the kit comes with blotting papers. And directions! So much neat new stuff to play with.

Be okay, we must admit that the yellow and green eyeshadows would probably look kind of scary on most people, including us.

Plus, we're pretty sure we can pick up bronzer, mascara, lipstick and a couple of kooky colored eyeshadows down at Walgreens for under $30. It wouldn't come in a neat-o case, but it might get us out of these early summer make up doldrums, and save $100.

Patricia Field is a busy, busy woman. She has deals with Payless and Marks and Spencer, and now she can add another notch to her surely fabulous belt -- the Home Shopping Network.

Can your favorite snacks be a fashion statement? We think so. Usually, we see limited edition t-shirts as just a gimmick, but when you put donuts, watermelon, or popsicles on them -- what you've got is a really awesome gimmick. And that we do like.

A German skate wear company called Ucon has released 3 delicious t-shirt designs that we think could have mass appeal -- except for the fact that they've only produced 100 of each. Too bad, great gimmicks like this are the way that small, sport-specific clothing companies become Volcoms or Hurleys.

Still, who doesn't want to show their love for popsicles on a hot summer day? We think snack food has some definite aesthetic appeal.

It's time again to replace our mascara, and once again we are struggling with the decision: drugstore or luxury?

Today's choice is between a return to the reliable and affordable Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black, under $5 everywhere, or upping the ante with a trip to Sephora for Dior Show Black Out Limited Edition, almost five times as expensive at $24?

Everyone knows that you should put out as much as you're comfortable spending on high quality base/concealer/face make up. But mascara is open to discussion. Some experts say buy cheap and often, others say that the only way to avoid Liza-like raccoon eyes (assuming you're not going for that look -- sometimes we are) is to splurge on a big name.

Which way do you sway?

Time flies when you are spending your hard earned cash on designer duds. Neiman Marcus is currently celebrating their 100th anniversary. What does Neiman's want for such an occasion? Your money of course, but they are offering designer exclusives in exchange. Fair enough.

The Wall Street Journal has an interesting piece on the rise, and perhaps fall, of limited edition sneakers. Even those of us who might not be fans of limited edition kicks have been aware of the frenzy (if only by watching Turtle's quest for rare sneakers on Entourage).

But the days of frenzy may be on the wane due to oversaturation of the market. Vans, for example, is releasing 70 kinds of limited-edition sneakers this spring and Nike seems to bring out a new edition every time a designer sneezes. The result of the flowering of the limited edition market means that the sneakers are bringing less money on the resale market. This is especially true with newer runs of "limited editions" where the limited amount can run into the thousands.

For hard core collectors this is changing the thrill of the hunt where rarity was part of the attraction. Some have switched to smaller companies and niche brands while some are just becoming less interested in obsessive collecting. It's a classic tale, find out what the customer wants and then give them far too much of it.
