Before I go on, note: Everything I'm blogging right now happened a while ago (at this time, the product is actually in stores, but I want to give you all the background to catch you up on how I got to today).
So, picking up from where I left off last week, I had made it into Scoop, my first choice in stores. Next stop: Space.NK -- the British prestige chain that is "the" place to go for beauty products.
It's sophisticated, sparse, Calvin Klein-esque and houses only about 60 well-edited brands.
The Space.NK chain was making a play for the U.S. and opened four stores, two in NYC. Plus, there was the store-within-a-store deal they struck with Bloomingdale's. A friend of mine knew the Space.NK founder, a very inspiring woman whose initials are, go figure, "NK." She introduced us through an email and the NK team asked to meet me... in London.

Now this is cool. If you are of legal age or have a very convincing fake I.D., then more likely than not you've experienced the following: it's getting about that time to exit the club and you want to put on a little lipgloss and because of the darkness you can't find it to save your life.
For decades us ladies have been taught to first line our lips and then carefully apply our lipstick, topping it all off with a gloss. Well, we are about to turn that notion on its head.

The Shimmer Brick also qualifies as fun -- it's really subtle, so you don't need to worry about looking like you're heading to a rave or anything. It works well as a highlighter on the cheek and brow, or the collarbone. Or, when used all over our face, it gave us a dewy look and helped to even out our skin tone.
Fall is a great time to try out darker shades of nail polish, eyeshadow, and lip color. But how dark is too dark? Yves Saint Laurent sent black-as-night lips down the runway during its fall fashion show, and the company will offer the signature shade for sale next month.
