Ecologie bags

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Green Fashion

We're big fans of the environment, and of cute accessories, so we're always happy to find a new fun bag that succeeds on both levels like this Ecologie bag.

Ecologie bags remind us of the preppy canvas bags we carried in grade school, with their boxy shape and contrasting handles. But unlike those ice haulers, these bags are made of a lightweight, machine washable fabric that is also durable and reusable. And did we mention light?

Nano-Tex: the secret to stain defense

Guys, I think we've all seen the commercials for stain-defending pants, and darn it, we sometimes need protection from our clumsy selves. We need it for the time we're on a date and drop a glob of spaghetti sauce in our laps. We need it for the time we're kicking back on the couch watching television and fumble the nachos right onto our new khakis.

Last, but not least, we need it -- as I found out last night -- for the time we're at the bar having a beer with the guys, and someone knocks your fresh-poured brew right back onto your favorite pair of shorts. Thank goodness for Nano-Tex. This stuff is worked into lots of fabrics these days, as a "chemical enhancement, attached at the molecular level" to defend against stains.

This addition to your clothing provides you with the ease of mind that stains won't be, well, stains. And it almost makes your clothes liquid-proof.

Don't worry. You won't appear to be preparing for a flood with plastic rain gear or anything. Nano-Tex is being used by some of the most popular clothing companies in your standard good-looking clothes. Eddie Bauer, Gap, Old Navy, Levi's, Lee, L.L.Bean, Bass Pro Shops, Perry Ellis, Nautica, and other companies use this cool technology.

Here's a couple of my favorite products equipped with Nano-Tex:
1. Stressfree relaxed fit pleated khakis from Gap
2. This Herringbone shirt from Eddie Bauer
