Mandy Moore in Yigal Azrouel - I Want That!

Mandy MooreMandy Moore rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on December 12 in honor of the Coach Cares campaign. While that's nice and all, it's really the Yigal Azrouel dress that we're after here. We are definitely digging Mandy's casual attire (although Cat totally isn't! MeOW!) that hits on a few key trends for the winter/spring transition including oxfords, black tights, and a yellow color palette.

Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion: Los Angeles

Filed under: Events: On the Scene, Fashion Week

While Los Angeles fashion week tends to be generally lackluster, one of the shows we always look forward to is Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion. (Full disclosure: we sometimes write for Gen Art's arts and culture blog, but were fans of the show long before that was the case.) The non-profit organization has launched the careers of fashion heavyweights including Derek Lam and Zac Posen. Fresh Faces shows are held in a few major cities each year, and are always a surefire spot for sighting upcoming designers.

Celebrities at the celebration of the redesigned Fendi Rodeo Drive flagship store

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Some of the biggest names in fashion have been freshening up their flagship stores lately. In 2007, the biggest
news was that the Christian Dior flagship store in Paris got an extreme makeover, and now Fendi has done the same. Their flagship store on Rodeo Drive has been totally redesigned.

A-Listers flocked to the unveiling of the store. Lindsay Lohan, Mandy Moore, Kate Mara, Rose McGowan and Camila Alves were all in attendance. Ok, so maybe they aren't all A-Listers, but Camila Alves is at least a B-lister now that she's been sperminated by Matthew Mcconaughey. Pregnancy in Hollywood fast tracks you up the list.

Fendi has long been a favorite brand among celebrities. Rose McGowan said of their clothes, "I really don't think you can go wrong with Fendi. You'd be hard-pressed to go wrong with Fendi. I feel very lucky to be wearing this fabulous little gown. I'm a shoe and bag girl but this gown could be one of my favorites I've ever worn. It reminds me of being on top of a music box."

You can see Rose's dress in the gallery. What do you think of her look? I like it but, my favorite of the night was little cutie Kate Mara. The futuristic silver belt she's wearing spiced up an otherwise boring little black dress, although I'm not crazy about the rest of her accessories.

Dress of the Day: Black Halo Tweed Cami Dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

lucky mag 2007 octoberIf you fell in love with Mandy Moore's ultra feminine look on the cover of Lucky magazine's October 2007 issue, well, you can get most of it with a single piece. What looks like a ruffle-front camisole over a high-waisted gray tweed skirt is actually a dress by Black Halo. The bodice is 100% ivory silk, attached to the skirt that also includes a thin belt. Mandy's got a little cardigan over the dress, making it work for the office, but you can take that dress right to cocktail hour without a cover-up.

Available at Pink Mascara for $350.

Mandy Moore likes candy

Filed under: Clothing, Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

Mandy Moore is in desperate need of a new stylist, because whoever let her out of the house in that tiny little bikini needs to be taken into a dark alley for a long and violent beating. It's not like Mandy is fat (although some would argue with me on that), but girlfriend certainly isn't skinny.

String bikinis need to be set aside for models, and people who are made of skin and bones; real women, like Mandy, need to cover that junk up in a tankini or if you want to get a little sun on that tummy -- a nice supportive halter style top paired with boy shorts would work. A visit to Mystic Tan wouldn't hurt either; fat rolls look best tanned rather than a shade of glowing white.

The real tragedy is the lack of makeup and her unkempt hair. Sure celebrities have the right to "let themselves go" a little, but geeze Mandy... you are promoting an album aren't you? Clean yourself up (for goodness' sake, there are photographers around).

Mandy Moore is currently rumored to be dating Nicole Richie's ex DJ AM, and if his dating history of Richie and some not-so-famous models are any indication of his taste, Mandy could be entering the celebrity skeleton club in a matter of months.

Top 5 StyleFouls at the Grammys, with Sarah's StyleFixes

Filed under: Clothing, Men, Dresses, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

grammy awards 2007 - stylefoul top five
StyleFoul: Mandy Moore looked like she rolled out of bed after a hard night of partying. Literally. Did the singer take the floral bedsheet of her bed, wrap it around her, and affix it to her body with a belt?
StyleFix: Go to bed earlier, Mandy. Wake up earlier. Take a shower. Find a real dress.

StyleFoul: Justin Timberlake in a silver suit that looks like he borrowed it from his father's closet. Or maybe from the Goodwill pile.
StyleFix: The man is a fashion designer now. Doesn't he have access to a sewing machine somewhere?

StyleFoul: Hillary Duff - Wild, bedhead hair colored way too dark to match what a too-small shiny Dolce & Gabbana dress. The dress looks like a nightie.
StyleFix: The adorable pop actress/singer should have kept her hair a lighter, natural color. Everything else wouldn't have looked so cheap.

StyleFoul: The Pussycat Dolls. All of them. Enough said.
StyleFix: We're not sure how we could fix these ladies.

StyleFoul: John Mayer very adorably paired a pair of Nikes with his tux -- we don't consider that a StyleFoul at all. But his bowtie was way too small.
StyleFix: He could have used the bow as a barette for his hair, and worn a regular sized bow tie.
