What will Kim Kardashian wear on Dancing With The Stars?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Rumor has it that curvalicious Kim Kardashian is the next "celebrity" to grace Dancing With The Stars. And if that's true, it completely allays our fears that this wonderful show was about to jump the shark.

First: with whom will they partner this spitfire? Our money is on the equally firey Max Chmerkovskiy, former partner of Mel B., (they were robbed!) and Leila Ali, both ladies with strong personalities.

But the ahem bigger question is what will the rigorous dancing regime to do to Kim's famed posterior? At least we'll get to the bottom of those real or fake rumors.

Avril's Maxim cover: Does she pull it off?

Those of you into the pseudo-punk, kinda goth, grunge girl look are in for a treat next month. Avril Lavigne, the pop-rock icon, is adorning the March cover of Maxim magazine.

It takes a lot to look decent on the cover a men's mag -- which is surprising, because most guys are only interested in seeing two things (or three, I guess, depending on how you're counting). You need just the right combination of sexy, trashy, and at least somewhat approachable to entice the average Joe to pick you up off the magazine rack.

So does Avril pull it off? She sticks with her traditional black eyeliner to help maintain her cred, and the frilly pink thing-a-ma-gigger she's using to cover up certainly works in her favor. All in all, I'd vote yes.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say she looks better than normal. The half grunge, half glamorous look she's been trying recently looks like a copy of a copy of a crappy version of Christina Aguilera -- only trashier. At least in the Maxim shoot she manages to look like a grown-up (and a pretty sexy one at that).

What do you think?

Playboy won't take Brit, but Maxim will

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

You know what they say, if you can't do Playboy, do Maxim.

Earlier this week, we reported Playboy editor Hugh Hefner turned down Britney Spears' request for a 7-figure payout to pose in his magazine.

Now Spears is now discussing the possibility of posing for the men's magazine Maxim. As a "close friend" put it to OK! Magazine, "She wants to be on the cover as quickly as they can shoot her. The last thing she did that really reminded America of her allure was her sexy Rolling Stone cover from October 2003, so the idea of another high-profile cover is completely logical."

Yeah, I get that ... because the completely logical thing to do when you're in the middle of a custody battle and a management crisis is to put a nearly naked picture of yourself on the cover of a mid-range men's magazine!

The irony is that a men's magazine cover isn't going to remind anybody of Britney's sexy appeal; it's just going to remind us that she's kind of pathetic, not desirable.
