Tooth tats: bling for your mouth

In the ongoing quest to find newer, weirder, uglier kinds of ways to augment the human body, there are plenty of people out there getting questionable tattoos in even more questionable places. Still, we can't really imagine "tooth art" catching on. That's right, there's a studio in Utah that actually offers tooth art (more accurately 'crown art') for people who want to look like they have a piece of spinach permanently caught in their teeth.
We don't really understand the idea behind this body-art innovation at all. The website explains it as a kind of white-collar tattoo that can be removed in only a few minutes with a dentist's grinder, but their samples show teeth branded with portraits of Amy Winehouse, Mickey Mouse and Tiger Woods. It seems more like they're trying to market these to teens and tweens -- along with braces and headgear. Are they serious? Do they really think parents are going to go for that in Utah?
