Get the look: Miss Sixty style accessories

If you wanna pull off some of the daring looks at Miss Sixty this spring, you'd better get your stems and chest in shape! The collection was brimming with plunging halter necklines, transparent tops and up-to-there hemlines. Although the shapes were showy, there was also a lot of comfort present in billowing lantern sleeves, playful jumpsuits and maxi length t-shirt dresses (which we're obviously going to need come spring).

In true Miss Sixty spirit, the real fun came in with the accessories. Hats of all kinds – beanies, crochet, visors, newboys – accompanied stripped knee socks, scarves, giant cuffs, black belts galore, and huge round sunglasses.

In our humble opinion, the Miss Sixty show was a perfect contemporary take on the bold, beautiful Mod look of the 60's. And we love it!

Online shopping, we're all obsessed with it, so listen up:

Beginning this September, people who flip over Miss Sixty's sexy denim, flirty tops, and rock 'n' roll accessories can purchase the brand's goodies over at Yoox, the Italian e-commerce retailer who plays host to cool labels like Pierre Hardy and Alaia.

The Miss Sixty shop on Yoox will launch on the 7th of next month -- right after the brand presents its spring '09 collection under the tents at Bryant Park. In addition to all of the new designs that will be taking up Yoox's front page, there will be, "original content, including video and images from the show, celebrity sightings and product."

Not to mention an exclusive limited-edition t-shirt, oh my!

NY Fashion Week: Miss Sixty

Miss Sixty runway show NY fashion week spring 2008
Miss Sixty holds a special place in my heart because my very first pair of premium denim was by Miss Sixty. That blast from the past feeling held on pretty tight during the Spring 2008 show today in New York because I felt like I took a time machine to the late 70's/ early 80's. I know that Miss Sixty always has that sort of vibe in their collection, but this time around I was a little scared.

The most retro pieces came from the head gear; there were visors, floppy plastic hats, and rehab chic headbands. The headbands I loved but the visors I could seriously live without. They looked a little dollar store to me. The color story was also very retro, incorporating mustard yellows, browns, and navy blues. A lot of stripes and Missoni inspired prints were used as well to cast "that 70's" appeal.

The cuts were pretty consistent with what is hot right now; skinny pants, micro minis, mod dresses, high waisted pants, tiny shorts. It seems that those cuts are just here to stay ... so get used to it. Other pieces that you may already have in your closet that will be hot for Spring '08 are super wide belts, and they get wide almost reaching corset territory. Plunging V necks are big for Miss Sixty as well, so make sure your chest is looking right.

Overall rating: Meh. Good 70's vibe which is never a bad thing, but nothing that I must have in my closet.

Miss Sixty sells jewelry too

Sure, you'll wear their name across your hindquarters, but how about your fingers? Jeans purveyors Miss Sixty have launched their jewelry line on Amazon. The pieces are priced from $55 to $185 and include rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets in gold and steel with leather and crystal details. Designs include wings, skulls, and in the new Romantic Collection, hearts. The design sense is a blend of Juicy Couture-style cute with just a touch of rocker edge such as in the ring shown here which sells for $55. I'm not a logo lover so I think it would be far more charming without the label.

Fall's Sexiest Shoes

Some people might think that the sexiest shoes come out in the springtime. And who can blame them? After all, it's hard to debate the overall sex appeal of a strappy sandal with a three inch heel. But that doesn't mean that we should all start belittling the alluring offerings of colder season kicks.

I'm of the opinion that luxe fabrics, good design and unique embellishments can more than make up for a lack of skin. And this fall's offering of shoes certainly does not disappoint. Between the boots, the heels, the platforms, and yes, the flats, we're well on our way to stealing the title of "Sexiest Shoe Season" from the warm-weathered spring.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Jimmy Choo Eleven leopard print pumps
What could be more sexy than leopard print and a sweet little heel? While many people might be put off by the busy leopard pattern, this shoe is actually extremely wearable. Pair them with black, white, denim, camel, or red and you are ready to go. Hot to trot, if you will.

Miu Miu Velvet jewel shoes

As far as shoes go, flats tend to get shafted when it comes to their sex appeal. But sexy doesn't have translate into a three inch heel. If you substitute the stiletto for a luxurious fabric like a rich velvet, flat shoes can be just as desirable as their taller siblings. Slip on these bejeweled shoes, and everyone will notice.
