Forgot Mother's Day? Think pink...leather that is.

A pink leather motorcycle jacket, is the perfect gift for someone's mom out there, and so fantastic we know you'll be forgiven when it arrives a couple of days late.

Want to make it really special? Pick up the matching chaps in pink or pale pink or supersoft pale pink lambskin. The whole outfit comes in under $300 and will last a lifetime. Or at least seem like it.

Jammin Leather, "the first and largest online leather catalog" has several pink leather items including hats and a lot of stuff with fringe.

Remember, the gift that will bring a tear to her eye is out there, you just have to keep looking. Happy Mother's Day!

T-Shirts for Mom!

Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. He's quite charming, really (and he loves his momma!)

First of all, today is Mother's Day- have you called yours? We'll wait.

Okay, that was a close one. Now back to the matter at hand, the Mother's Day commemorative t-shirt. The good news is that the Internet is full of options for Mom, the bad news is that they are mostly crap. Actually, that's about the way it is for most things on the Internet. It's not personal, Mom. Here are some of the better prints:

Let your hairstylist take five years off your face

Everyone loves a makeover, because there is always a happy ending. Over at Stylelist, in honor of Mother's Day, they have an amazing series of "Look Five Years Younger" makeovers.

The thing that just blew our minds was how the makeovers demonstrated the power of a good cut and color. Clothes that fit and flattering makeup are important, but well-cared for hair telegraphs to the world that you value and care about yourself.

Gardening gifts for Mom that will last longer than a dozen roses

For a lot of us, flowers are a go-to gift on Mother's Day. Sadly, that beautiful bouquet is quickly gone, and your wonderful Mom is left without a lasting reminder of how much you love her.

Feeling guilty? Well, a little shopping therapy can help with that. You still have plenty of time to get out there and pick up something a little more substantial.

Get Mom out of a style rut with these gifts

When we were wee little girls, our moms helped us define our sense of style. Sometimes they bought us that fabulous candy necklace we'd been eying at the dime store, once in a while they let us experiment with their makeup, and occasionally they let us pick out our own outfits for school and allowed us to leave the house wearing leg warmers, shorts, and a sweater because it was helping us figure out who we were.

Now is your chance to help Mom out. Is she in a style rut? Often, as women age, they find what works for them and just sort of stick with it. And while you might not be ready to take Mom out for a whole new wardrobe, you can help her update her look with some fab accessories -- click through the gallery for ideas.

Luxe Link keeps your bag off the floor

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Daily Obsession

Ever since Kristen's post about the groddy bottoms of our handbags, we've been twitchy and worked up about keeping our bag off the floor.

The experience made us realize that in most restaurants/bars/movie theaters there is no where to put your bag besides holding it on your lap. And if you're a big bag gal, like most of us, that's an awkward and uncomfortable position.

Much to our delight, this weekend a friend pulled a beautiful little enameled disk out of her bag, gave it a quick twist and voila, a personal bag hook for the table.

We demanded the details, which we're glad to share here. It's called a Luxe Link, it comes in several designs and in it's own little pouch so it's easy to carry in your bag. You can buy it online for $35.

Hey, this could make a great Mother's Day gift -- all moms have bags, right?

Gift ideas for the fashion-conscious mom

For many of us, the real problem in getting a gift for Mother's Day, is that if our mom really wanted something, she'd buy it. This leaves us in the tricky position of finding something that our mothers wouldn't get for themselves, but might want anyway -- which, in my case, unfortunately leads me directly to women's clothing and home decor.

Now, I'm a fairly style-conscious person (if I do say so myself), but mom and I aren't exactly in the same demographic, and -- to be honest -- I have no idea what she thinks is cool. I opted for something tasteful, scented, and relatively unobtrusive, so even if she hates it, she can leave it out without anyone noticing.

If you're a little more daring, Second City Style has posted a number of fun ideas for great Mother's Day gifts -- with price tags from $75 to $350 (for those of you looking to splurge this year). There's an awesome umbrella from SaksFifthAvenue, a fantastic pair of Peggy Guggenheim Sunglasses, and more. Check it out -- especially if you're still stuck on what to get this year.

Because remember, it's on Sunday -- so time is running out!
