This is an odd pairing of belts. One says "I'm non-threatening and fun, even if perhaps behind the times" and the other says "I'm into random pieces of metal." Why Fairiesupthecreek is selling these together, we can't say. We can say we don't think you want either of them.First of all, there's the issue of the picture: Belts hanging from a tree by a dirt road. What does that say about their wear and tear? May have been damaged by grazing deer? May have slight imperfections due to nearby frolf?

Dress of the Day: Shoals Harvest Dress

With Monday off (for most "normal" people with "normal" jobs) we're on a little weekend getaway. Though we didn't get to pack up and head to a private beach resort in the tropics nor to a luxury lodge tucked away in the Rockies, we have gotten to go somewhere slightly warmer than home and are inspired this weekend by "resort wear." The Shoals Harvest doesn't sound very resort with "harvest" in the name, but the 100% sateen cotton, bright cayenne colored strapless dress is definitely meant for wearing with a pair of platform wedge espadrilles on a veranda. The pleated, boned bodice has a nipped-in waist with wide band that lets out to a floaty skirt that falls a modest 33".

Even if all we're doing on a Sunday afternoon is doing "necessary" things around the house like paying bills and doing laundry, we still want to look cute in front of the boy who's watching a couple of football games in the living room. It's a casual affair, which means Joie's Casual Affair Tunic Dress is perfect. The dress is made of a soft stretchy blend of tencel and supima cotton and comes in a bright orange-pink called saffron. The dress has long sleeves so it's not too inappropriate for mid-January, and yet the fabric is not too heavy for inside. The Casual Affair Tunic dress is on sale from Amazon for $54.99.
Dress of the Day: Young Fabulous & Broke Orange/Cream Racerback Dress
I will almost always tell you, no matter how stick skinny you might be, to never ever never never wear horizontal stripes, particularly wide stripes. Almost always.
If you want to throw on Young Fabulous & Broke's Racerback Tank Dress that is not only horizontally striped, but horizontally striped in orange and cream, two colors that are, together, definitely not subtle, then I will keep my mouth shut. Though you might look like a creamsicle, or perhaps a very pale version of Nemo, the dress, 75% viscose 25% lurex with a metallic thread woven throughout, is totally cute. It's perfect for a summer Sunday brunch on the terrace with a pair of dressy-because-they're-gold, but casual-because-they're-flip-flops flip flops.
