Missing turtle: The t-shirt

Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Men, Kids and Babies

Mediocre hits home with this great green t-shirt. At first glance "Missing Turtle" suggests a wayward pet and perhaps conjures images of a sad child and lonely, lonely tears- but funny.

This, however, is not the case. A closer reading of the t-shirt message and the punchline sinks in:

Answers to Michaelangelo. His favorite food is pizza, but he hates anchovies. He has an orange blindfold cut out for the eyes. Keep an eye out at the clubs and bars because he's a party dude. Be careful because he has nun-chucks. His owner really misses him. Call splinter at 555-4372.

When it comes time to get all dolled up, don't be selfish -- pamper your pup, too! Giving your furry friend a pedicure might get you some funny looks at the dog park, but come on -- you know it's adorable.

How well-dressed dogs stay dry in April showers

If you have a dog, you know that, no matter how rotten the weather, dogs need to go outside. Their need to "do their business" can't be put on hold because you don't want to get wet.

Fortunately, you can get a cute raincoat or umbrella and hit the sloppy streets in style. But what about your pooch?

For the fashionable feline: Kitty A Go-Go

My cat doesn't like to play dress up -- in fact, she goes somewhat catatonic when I try (sorry, couldn't resist). This is a bummer because I love getting funky new collars for my dogs, and I feel like I leave the kitty out.

Now, though, there is something for your feline friend that's fashionable but isn't worn -- a leopard print litter box! And, it's made by a company named -- get this -- Kitty A Go-Go. Is that not the cleverest name for a litter box company you've ever heard? Granted, I can't come up with any other names, but I'm still sure it's the best. Plus, it comes with a pull out tray, rake, sifter, and liner for when your kitty, you know, goes ... goes.

If leopard print isn't quite your (or your pretty kitty's) style, fear not. Kitty A Go-Go offers lots of colors and designs. Check out the gallery to pick yours!

Kitty wigs are a haute mess

Remember how appalled I was a few months back when I saw dog wigs on the Today Show? Then you can only imagine my horror when I saw that there are wigs for the feline persuasion as well. Does the madness ever stop? Why did cats have to be dragged into this mockery?

The website KittyWigs.com is selling these wigs and warn that quantities are limited (oh no, we better hurry). You can choose between pink passion, bashful blonde, silver fox and electric blue. Each wig comes in a metal "wig case" that way your pet's precious little wig won't get dirty and matted.

If I were forced (at gun point) to choose a favorite it would have to be "bashful blonde." The only reason I feel compelled to choose this wig is that it has the most hilarious description on the website. Check it out:

" Blonde is a magical mix of bashful and brazen. Fern shows off the many moods of a natural blonde: sweet yet catty, smart yet batty -- where life is alluring and coy. Now all she needs is a bikini and a Swedish accent. Blonde sets off your kitty's eyes and makes your kitty look tan."

Yes, you read that right; it makes your kitty look tan. Now you and I have officially seen it all.

Cats need fashion too!

I love cats, like a lot (I mean I am Fashion Kitty), so I am thrilled to pieces over this absurd Hello Kitty cat costume ... or as Gizmodo calls it "Hello Kitty, goodbye dignity."

Leave to the Japanese to come up with the "Hello Kitty transformation set" (that is the loose translation) which is fully equipped with a bonnet, a bib, collar, and a tote to carry around your very embarrassed kitty.

Sure this "outfit" may be degrading to cats and some may even argue that it's cruel, but seriously why should dogs have all the fun? Dogs have it just as well as us fashionable humans do; designer clothes from Juicy Couture, Louis Vuitton beds, diamond studded collars ... you name it they've got it. Cats, however, they have catnip and this lousy cat stroller I saw online.

As a cat fan I want to humiliate my cat and dress it up in ridiculous outfits, so let's hope the Japanese are about to start a trend here.
