Rock and roll breast cancer research support

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style, Must Haves

This adorably-cut, washed-out pin vintage-style tee is available from Lyric Culture ($90), and $25 from every sale goes to support City of Hope breast cancer research. The front says "I will survive" a'la Gloria Gaynor, with a lock and key design that draws on feminine symbolism and the female anatomy.

Denise Richards is a fan, saying:
"I am so excited to wear the "I will Survive" Lyric Culture tee shirt in support of Breast Cancer Research and City of Hope. Cancer research is vital in saving lives."

That may not be the most novel observation Denise has ever made, but we still like the shirt.

Lyric Culture has retro-chic line of clothing inspired by specific Motown and classic rock songs called Revolution. Some of the selections include Love Child, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and Born to be Wild. Check out some of our favorites below!

That's me! I went to DEX New York, a salon and studio in NYC frequented by Tyra Banks, to get a $10 hot pink hair extension. 100% of the proceeds go to The National Breast Cancer Foundation. You should get one, too! It was totally painless, took about five minutes once I was in the chair, and they gave me a pink cupcake. If you're in NYC, this is a great way to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Read on to see how it looks!

Pink Rimistyle cuff shows you support the fight against breast cancer

We love funky, modern jewelry. We love supporting great causes, like breast cancer awareness. And we love when we can combine the two, like with the Rimistyle Pink Geometric Cuff.

This October, in honor of National Breast Cancer month, Rimistyle is donating all of the proceeds from every sale of the groovy limited edition bracelet to the fight against cancer.

Cuffs are all the rage this season, and it's always fashionable to give back. At $20, this is cute and affordable way to show you're on the pink (breast cancer support, not Victoria Secret) team!

Let your pink pride and style show!

Dress of the day - Jay Godfrey Cotton Candy cocktail mini

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

A sweet as candy slip of a dress by Jay Godfrey this one is for the woman in her twenties (we're not saying that you actually have to be in twenties, a youthful spirit will suffice) - this dress is all flirtatious girlish fun, literally tied up with a big black bow for a night out on the town.

The loose A-line and one-shoulder styling make this an easy option for many body types. Pair it with black heels and we guarantee those poor boys won't know what hit them.

50% off at chickdowntown.com (originally $440, now $220)

Dress of the day - Gap strappy tiered dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

Dresses like this are made for the last hot days of summer - it's an easy style that you can just as easily wear on top of your bathing suit or out to a casual lunch. We like the "nude rose" shade pictured here, because it's as refreshing as a fruit sorbet. Pretty!

Made of 100% cotton, the roomy tiered style and empire waist won't stick to your skin (an important consideration when the mercury soars) while the scoop neck and elasticized back will show just enough skin to still look hot. Pair this dress with dainty jewelry and strappy sandals and get out and enjoy those lazy summer days!

$48.99 at Gap.com

Shoes of the day - Loupe by Kate Spade

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Must Haves

Oooh, these sandals are the perfect party shoe! Can't you just imagine dancing away while perched atop these delicate gold-toned heels? We can! And we love them in pink because it brings out the softness of the fabric - they look deceptively comfortable, but are definitely meant for dress-up nights.

You'd wear these at a formal event, of course - but we think these would also look amazing peeking from underneath black pants or dark wash jeans when paired with a dressy top.

(They also come in black, if pink isn't your thing.)

$298 at Kate Spade

I want that! Rose pink Herve Leger

At a recent event Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere wore a pretty rose pink Herve Leger dress with gold Christian Loub's. Hayden knows that the key to a sophisticated style is to play it by the "less is more" rule which she does flawlessly here. We <3 this!

Beat the heat with homemade lemonade

The sunny tartness of lemonade is a summer time favorite, plus it's fun and easy to make. Some lemons, some sugar, ice, a glass and you're in business. The non-carbonated kind we drink here is a particularly American version, and it's a part of many family traditions, sipped on the porch after supper and sold from countless lemonade stands in suburban driveways.

Part of the fun of lemonade is it's versatility. You can add other fruits, like ripe raspberries, for a juicy hybrid surprise, or a garnish of mint to make it a garden party. And for those over twenty-one out there, well you probably already know how well vodka fortifies a tall glass of citrus goodness. Ginger, pink and strawberry lemonade are all someone's favorite.

There are some quick and easy ways to dress up your lemonade and make every pitcher a party. Check out our tips in the gallery.
