Shoes of the day - Luvvy by Steve Madden

Filed under: Accessories, Shoes, Vintage and Retro, Must Haves

We've said this before, but it bears repeating: It's never too early to start shopping for holiday parties. And really, when you can find perfectly festive shoes like this, why wait?

The Luvvy by Steve Madden is a smart shoe - the strap is convertible (yes!) and looks just as great when worn across the foot worn as when it's decorating the heel. The white polka dots and red accents make these shoes scene stealers. Sometimes getting more than you bargained for is a very good thing.

Why aren't you wearing this? Silk Dot-print Scarf

Do you have anything in your closet that you can add to an outfit to give it instant interest and a pop of color? If you don't, you should. A funky belt, an unusual hat, or a gorgeous scarf, like this Silk Dot-print Scarf will do the trick while looking effortless.

It's available at Banana Republic for $49, and what we love about it is that it's so easy to wear. Drape it casually around your neck under a jacket, as shown here, or tie it loosely to add some punch to a dress.

And, purple is, in our opinion, a highly underrated color. It's dark enough to work elegantly with blacks and grays, but it's bright enough to take an outfit from boring to brilliant. But, if you're not loving the purple, the same design is available in brown, white, and turquoise.

You can't get more classic than black and white polka dots, but in this case it's a timeless look that doesn't take itself too seriously - we firmly believe that fashion should be fun, and this dress fits the bill.

Five Must-Have Looks for Spring

spring looks
I am wild about Spring, girls. Wild, I tell you. For some reason, while other seasons have had one, two, maybe three very prominent trends, this Spring 2007 is all about...everything. It's as if every trend from the last few years has converged into right now. Patent leather. Metallics. Wide belts. Shorts. Big and bold. Soft and sweet. You name it, it's probably fashionable for spring. All except, thankfully, the skinny jean.

Nautical or Nice - They had to do something so we could wear anchors around our necks, right? Nautical is all about brunching at the Yacht Club in dark navy, crisp white, bright red, and gold accessories. Strangely, I have always associated the nautical look with Spring and Summer, regardless of trendiness.
