Beija-Flor - Designer Jeans That Fit Everyone

beija-flor jennifer jeansAdmit it: trying on jeans makes you cry. Us, too. In fact, we believe that stores that sell jeans or bridesmaid dresses -- but especially jeans -- should have tissue dispensers in the dressing rooms.

Flat Belly Diet - Fad Diet du Jour

Filed under: Style in the News, Books

The Flat Belly Diet is currently the hottest you gotta do this one! eating plan. Six pack abs are dreamy, but apparently the stress of the 2008 presidential election has us all packing on the beer bellies and love handles. Since there isn't much time for us to take it off before holiday parties make it even worse, people are all over this quick fix diet -- you'll supposedly see results in the first four days.

Tim Gunn returns with new BFF Gretta Monahan

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

As huge Tim Gunn fans, we've been waiting for the second season of Tim Gunn's Guide To Style, seemingly forever. Bravo finally announced that we'll see new episodes starting on October 2nd, at 11 pm, which would be a bizarre time if anyone ever watched anything live anymore. Thank you Tivo!

There was buzz that they were going to rework the show, and now we know that at least one of the changes is a new fashion accomplice. The beautiful but disproving Veronica Webb will be replaced by stylist Gretta Monahan, who we can already tell is way more fun. For a preview of her makeover style, check out this video of her helping a girl actually look like a girl.

Gretta's from Boston, so we automatically like her. She's on Rachel Ray all the time, and has that same gravelly voice and perkiness, which is good in small doses. And she sorta reminds us of makeover queen Stacy London, but without the evil ability to make us cry.

We can't wait to watch Gretta go through some underwear drawers!

Those Shirts are right (wing)

Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. He's quite charming, really.

ThoseShirts.com
does something unlike any other t-shirt company we've covered. They make Republicans funny. Actually, quite a few of the t-shirt companies have made Republicans funny, but ThoseShirts.com are laughting with the right, not at them. We know, we didn't think it could be done either.

Dunkin' Donuts pulls ad with Rachel Ray because she's dressed like a terrorist

Filed under: Accessories, Celebrities with Style

Okay, the scarf itself might have bombed, but does anyone really think Rachel Ray could be a terrorist sympathizer? Apparently her wardrobe choice for a recent Dunkin' Donuts ad made people confused enough that the company decided to yank the ad.

Wanna be on Oprah or Tyra? Better look good.

Filed under: Events: On the Scene, Celebrities with Style

What could possibly be better than watching Oprah, Tyra, or Rachel Ray on TV? Being there in person, of course!

But before you can laugh, cry, and shout "You go, girl!" with a couple hundred of your fellow daytime-TV-obsessed compatriots, you may need to take a long, hard look at your wardrobe. It turns out all of the major talk show divas have more in common than good looks and matriarchal sass -- according to WWD, each one insists on a dress code for their audience.

Tyra and Rachel say no to flip-flops, shorts, white t-shirts, velour sweatshirts, sneakers, ripped jeans and tanked tops. Ladies sitting in on Martha Stewart should think "dressy and fun,"' while guys should shoot for something you could wear to your local country club.

So that's why everyone in the audience of those shows looks frumpy and lame!

According to producers, these guidelines keep the audience looking "camera-ready." But I have a sneaking suspicion that they just don't want anyone dressing better than the host.

Who's most at risk from being upstaged by a fashionista in the audience? Check out our gallery to see which of these daytime TV icons has the best fashion sense, then vote for your favorite!

Foodies Have Figure Issues, Too

Filed under: Fashionable Food, Celebrities with Style

rachel ray food networkFood Network personality, cookbook author and talk show host Rachael Ray has this thing about her booty -- she hates it. Well, hate is a strong word, but she does prefer to conceal it.

The size-6 cook has no desire to become a size-zero, but she does get self-conscious about her body like everyone else. Last season, on her morning talk show, her uniform included wearing a lot of Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses (which conceal the tummy and makes for an overall thinner look). This look was a far cry from her Food Network look that consisted of mom jeans and tucked in solid tops, which did nothing but accent her figure flaws.

For her upcoming TV season Rachael Ray's stylist told the NY Post that she will go with flared jeans (by James Jeans), jersey tops (from Splendid), and ballet flats. Yum-o! Of course, in real life Rachael throws down in the kitchen wearing sweats, a baseball cap, and a 20-year-old jean jacket (gross).

It's good to hear that Rachael Ray isn't making herself crazy with extreme diets and opts for a more sensible solution -- dressing for her body. Now if she could only work on making that talk show less horrible.
