Should you rent designer jewelry for your holiday party?

Are you looking to impress some people at your holiday parties this year? I just found out that you can rent high-end jewelry from a website called bagborroworsteal.com. Sarah posted about the site in July for their main attraction, which is lending out designer handbags, but they do jewelry now, too. You can borrow ridiculously expensive jewelry for a week or a month, and then return it and borrow something different.
So, now that we know we can borrow, the question is: should we? Some would say it's a misrepresentation of yourself; that if you can't afford the jewelry then wearing it is trying to be something you're not. But I say go for it! If you can wear a piece of jewelry like the Vera Wang necklace pictured here, without spending enough for a downpayment on a new home for it, well that's not fake -- just smart.
