It's not even Thanksgiving yet and already a trio of designers are getting into the holiday spirit with charitable activities to benefit the children of the world.

For all the lip-service paid to loving diversity and ladies of all sizes, designers still show preferential treatment to the literally little ladies.

As Donald Trump introduced his new Trump International Hotel in Dubai and Christina Aguilera's incredible set of pipes were bursting with song, Ali Larter strolled into the party in an amazing Robert Cavalli gown.

We do enjoy some Ali Larter for sure. She's a minimalist but always maximizes on color.This dress was just dreamy so we give her, not the Donald or Christina, a standing ovation.

We guess its safe to say Roberto Cavalli is on a mission to cover every inanimate object in animal print.

WWD reports the Italian designer has been tapped by Coke to re-work their classic Diet Coke bottle for the hip crowd that will be descending upon Milan in September for fashion week. Cavalli designed three bottles, all wrapped in different animal prints, that will be sold in Italy from September through December.

But don't get too excited, Italian lovers. There are only going to be 300, 000 of the limited-edition Diet Coke bottles made. So unless you can sneak into one of those uber swanky fashion parties cum fall, you're just going to have to pray that one of the bottles makes its way onto Ebay.

Dubai is the land of luxury, 5 star hotels and islands in the shape of the world. And soon, it will become home to Roberto Cavalli's first ever Cavalli Club.

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli talks a mean game, but it appears his bark is much bigger than his actual bite.

WWD reports Cavalli will not be selling his namesake fashion label as was expected this year. This announcement comes after the designer informed the Italian financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore that the economy wasn't too kind to his label this year, "I'm not selling the company. The timing is not ripe yet for such a step. What's more, as I have already said a thousand times, we don't need [to sell]."


We feel for you Cavalli. We really do. Now, does this mean you'll be making more collections with H&M in the near future?

What recession? You'd never know the country is in belt tightening mode by looking at the children's departments of upscale stores like Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus. With designer names and totally impractical materials -- silk? cashmere? for a baby? -- the racks are full of high fashion and high prices.

We suspect that Suri Cruise is somehow to blame. Talk about the child most likely to become Claire, Molly Ringwald's character in The Breakfast Club, who got detention for skipping school to go shopping. Perfectly coiffed and dressed, she has a wardrobe full of Cavalli, Dior and Burberry. And she's just turned two. We can only imagine what she'll be wearing at 16.

And you thought Karl Lagerfeld was the only one who could give brutally honest interviews (so did we!).

But that was before someone had the genius idea to sit down with pen and paper and let Roberto Cavalli talk crap about everyone and anything that was on his mind. This weekend, the Telegraph interviewed the Italian fashion designer and he gave them a ear full.

On his pal Victoria Beckham: "Sadly, now that she's in LA, it's difficult to see one another. We talk all the time on the phone, though. She is such a fantastic woman."

The LA Times published an article the other day about how rock stars are beginning to all look the same, and after a quick survey of many of today's top artists, we have to kind of agree. While we've spent many hours lamenting over how derivative and boring mainstream pop music is these days, we hadn't really taken notice of how conservative rock stars were dressing.

Where's the sex? Where's the wild hair? Where is the leather? Visionaries and rebels are few and far between in today's music scene. Instead of setting the rules for fashion, like many of their predecessors, most of today's music talent look like they're taking their cues from display windows at the mall. From John Mayer to Fergie, most of them look like they're heading to a photo shoot for one catalog or another -- and in a very real way, they are.

Roberto Cavalli, the admittedly famous fashion designer who's been in the news lately for his work with H&M, the Spice Girls and Jennifer Lopez, is -- not surprisingly -- totally full of himself.

Cavalli was heading through an airport in South Africa when security officials stopped him for not having the correct paperwork. Apparently under the assumption that he's way too cool to bother with concerns of the common man (like national security, for instance), Cavalli scoffed at the airport workers, asking: "Do you know who I am?"

Oh, man. This is such a cliche. How embarrassing!

And it gets worse. After the designer discovered that those random South African airport employees didn't, in fact, know who he was (which isn't exactly shocking), he added: "I am the greatest fashion designer in the world!"

That's a fairly significant exaggeration, to say the least.

When you're a singer whose entire image is built around looking posh, the last thing you want is for some idiot to sneak into your dressing room and steal all your posh threads. Doubly so if said posh threads carry the name Cavalli.

After the Spice Girls performance in Cologne on Thursday, Posh returned to her room to find that two pairs of shoes at almost $10,000 each, stage outfits, and jewelry had been swiped. A satin robe specially designed by Cavalli for Mrs. Beckham was also taken.

This news article ends with a little salt to the wounds, saying that Posh also recently caught a few back-up dancers making fun of her backstage through imitation, and not the flattering kind. Apparently some dancer mocked her by just standing at the mike, pouting and breathing heavily. Ouch.

Would anyone have guessed back in June when the world found of that Roberto Cavalli was designing for H&M that a full on riot would ensue 5 months later? I am a deal hungry girl, but this is just insane. The entire clothing line sold out within 2 hours. Wow.

In Amsterdam, where Cavalli and model Jessica Stam were present, women lined up the night before with their sleeping bags just to be some of the first customers in line. The first 150 people in line received gift cards ranging from five to 300 dollars, a signed ad campaign poster, and a Cavalli T-shirt.

H&M is one of those stores that is good in theory. They have clothes that are affordable, fashionable, and sold at a lower price point. All good things, right?

Then why is that every time I walk into H&M I either trip over a pile of clothes or get elbowed in the chest by a bargain hunter? These drawbacks out weigh the positive for me, which makes me sad because on November 8th Roberto Cavalli will debut his new line for H&M.

Roberto Cavalli dresses Hollywood's finest, and now he can dress the not-so-famous as well. Cavalli follows in the footsteps of other high-end designers like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Vikor & Rolf, who have all designed collections for H&M.

Cavalli's designs targets young people, who love high fashion, but can't necessarily afford the high-fashion price tag. Cavalli's line for women will include 25 pieces, which includes coats, dresses, pants, blouses, lingerie and accessories. Prices are not yet confirmed, but they're predicted to fall in the $50- $400 range.

I have to say the collection is hot. Maybe hot enough to risk an H&M related injury. I look forward to picking up closet staples like the black trench coat, military jacket, and black tuxedo pants. Of course, I will have to buy some of Roberto Cavalli's signature animal prints like the short giraffe print coat and the short snow leopard dress.

Oh, that's right, a few UK teenagers started a trend called "nu rave" that's going to last maybe until Springtime (if it's not already dead), so uninspired designers looking to stay relevant should all jump on board right now! Right?

Wrong.

Because when you're try and follow the trends of fickle teenagers, you end up with horrible disasters, ala this fuzzy, sci-fi mess on the right.

Of course, the other possibility is that Roberto Cavalli thought this would be a hit when he unveiled it in Milan last week. I guess.

It wouldn't be a fashion show without a little drama, and we've certainly gotten our fair share. First, Madrid bans BMI-lite models, Milan follows suit, and now, five anti-fur protesters from animal rights activist group PETA have stormed a Roberto Cavalli fashion show, with posters printed with "Cavalli = cruelty."

Because the fashion show was so flamboyant, it took some time for security guards to realize that the activists were not a part of the show. They eventually escorted the activists out. Activists from the organization also protested at the Burberry fashion show on Monday. However, PETA's vice president says that "Cavalli is our target because he has described himself as an animal-lover but he has about every animal out there in his collection."

There was no fur shown at Cavalli's fashion show, since it was for Spring 2007.
