Why aren't you wearing this? Quilted Faux-Leather Satchel

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Must Haves

How many handbags do you have? And, out of those, how many do you use on a regular basis? We'll admit, we sometimes get in a rut, switching just between black and brown, but we think that a bold, bright color is just as easy to carry.

A bag like this red Quilted Faux-Leather Satchel, $34.50 on sale for $19.50 at Old Navy can add a much needed punch of color to a boring outfit, or act as a complement to an already bold ensemble.

Why aren't you wearing this? L.A.M.B. 'Signature - Mandeville Small' Satchel

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Daily Obsession, Must Haves

One of the things we love about being a girl is that we can be sweet and girly one minute, a vamp the next, and tough and sporty after that. And sometimes, if we find just the right outfit, we can be all of those things at once.

Why aren't you wearing this? Lucky Brand Poppy Fields Patchwork Satchel

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Must Haves

We don't know about you, but on some days we wake up feeling high fashion -- we've got poise and style and want to run around town in heels and look unapproachably gorgeous. On other days, we wake up feeling a little less au currant, but that doesn't mean we plan to schlep around in sweats and carry a backpack for a purse -- not a chance!

The new Coach bag: Ergo

At last a Coach bag without that extra ten pounds of crazy brass hardware weighing it down. We've loved the style of Coach for years, but our little shoulders, or our habit of carrying everything in the world in our bag, kept us from ever getting one.

The company finally figured out that they're missing a target market, Bag Crazy Bag Ladies, and came out with a new line called "Ergo" which is short for ergonomic. Lightweight, soft, with clean lines, we're very tempted by these bags. They're still crazy expensive, but the Coach story has always been "you'll have it forever" so maybe that works for you. Prices and some pretty colors in the gallery.

When you check out the site, make sure to click on the awesome "Try this bag on" feature on the site. It shows you the scale of the bag on an average woman, both holding it in your hand and on your shoulder.

Why aren't you wearing this? B. Makowsky 'Eden' Convertible Satchel

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Must Haves

White handbags are white-hot this summer, and with good reason -- they bring a bright, classic feel to any outfit, and, as you know, white goes with almost everything. And, sure, you could go with the uber-popular oversized clutch, but since your summer dresses don't come with pockets, why not invest in a bag that will carry all your summertime necessities?

StyleDash handbag giveaway: Day 11

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Contests & Giveaways

The StyleDash 30-day handbag giveaway continues! Every weekday, we are giving away a designer handbag to a lucky U.S. reader. The emphasis is on "lucky," because we're not asking you to do anything difficult, like pushing your BMI down to 16. You just need to drop a comment onto the contest page. We'll select the winner randomly. I'll get to the rules in a minute. First, today's prize:

For our 11th giveaway, we are returning to the village satchel by Cole Haan. Apparently inspired by a sausage, the designer bag features silver hardware, a tassel pull, and plenty of room for a pudgy cat. My wife, tremendously aggravated by my cynical and style-dumb comments, reminds you to click the pic for more information. The retail value is $335, which I think is pricey for a pet container.

The bag could be yours, if you follow these rules:

1) Leave a comment on this post. Doesn't matter what you say. No special consideration is given to song lyrics, but if you've got a song in your heart, please share it.

2) No duplicates! Stay out of Kinko's. If you try to double-dip we'll catch it.

3) If you win, don't come back for seconds. We know you deserve to win every day, but others have feelings, too.

4) Prizes will be shipped 30-45 days after the 30-day contest ends. Patience is a virtue.

Today's contest will stay open until noon Thursday (9/28), when the next giveaway will be posted. Congratulations to John Longo, who won the Marc Jacobs "Hobo" on Day 10!

Good luck, and thanks for being part of StyleDash!

StyleDash handbag giveaway: Day 5

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Contests & Giveaways

The StyleDash 30-day handbag giveaway continues! Every weekday, we are giving away a designer handbag or book tote to a lucky reader. The emphasis is on "lucky," because we're not asking you to do anything difficult, like wear clashing colors. You just need to drop a comment onto the contest page. We'll select the winner randomly. I'll get to the rules in a minute. First, today's prize:

For our fifth giveaway, we are returning to the village leather satchel from Cole Haan, pictured here. It looks a bit like a dachshund. Believe me, I get a lot of grief at home when I write stuff like that. I am instructed to tell you that this is a beautiful bag, but I'm sure you already know it.

The bag could be yours, if you follow these rules:

1) Leave a comment on this post. Doesn't matter what you say. No special consideration is given to Beatles' song lyrics, but we enjoy trips down memory lane.

2) No duplicates! Please curb your multiple personalities. If you try to double-dip we'll catch it and hold a grudge.

3) If you win, don't come back for seconds. We know you deserve to win every day, but others have feelings, too.

4) Prizes will be shipped 30-45 days after the contest ends. Patience is a virtue.

Today's contest will stay open until noon Wednesday (9/20), when the next giveaway will be posted. Congratulations to April, who won Day 4!

Good luck, and thanks for being part of StyleDash!
