Bionic Beauty's Sunless Tanner Tips
With the sun and hence swimsuit season upon us, let's share tips on sunless tanners. Below are my fail safe tricks to get a natural looking glow sans streaks, blotches or skin nightmares.

* Exfoliate during your shower. This is so very important to getting an even application with sunless tanners. I use a bath pouf or a loofah with my body wash and wash my entire body. Then, I very lightly wash with a non-moisturizing exfoliant or microdermabrasion body wash (like Lancome's Microdermabrasion for body). Your goal is to get an even layer of fresh skin. Without exfoliating, your skin has an uneven "shed" of skin cells causing the skin to absorb the tanner at different rates.

Lady Gaga's Most Questionable Beauty Move

Filed under: Cosmetics, Skin Care, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes, Product Reviews, Beauty Tips

Here's the thing about Lady Gaga that baffles me.

Her futuristic style (which we're kinda obsessed with) is light years ahead of where most performers dare to tread -- think lilac lipstick, techno-bob, and superhero underpants. So why on Earth is she so insistent on keeping that Nineties pop star tan?

"I'm fiercely tan and very orange!" she said, as reported in The Observer.

Oh, jeez, it's intentional?! I was hoping that she just couldn't see how orange things had gotten from underneath those tremendous black shields she calls sunglasses.

Lindsay Lohan is now selling self-tanner

Filed under: Style in the News

Guess what? Lindsay Lohan has a new product that she wants to sell us while she tries to put her life back together so she can start making films for millions and millions of dollars and get back to acting like a straight-up diva.

In the meantime, though, let us introduce you guys to Stay Gold, Lilo's new merchandising company that will sell products under the the name 6126. And just in case you're wondering how the starlet picked that sequence of numbers, well, it's Marilyn Monroe's birthday -- June 1, 1926. You know, her idol.

Anyways, next spring Lindsay plans on releasing another round of leggings, which will be priced cheaper, and a self-tanner that will most likely turn your skin orange. Cool, right? Especially, if you can still quote lines from Mean Girls. Just kidding.

It's the end of summer, where's my tan?

Summer is a time for all of us to enjoy vacationing on the beaches of Paradise Island, Hawaii, Jamaica, or any other sunny spot around the world. And when you return from these vacations at the end of summer, you girls are supposed to show it -- with a tan.

But what about those of you who either don't get any time off (or can't afford it!) or those of you who just can't manage to soak up any of those summertime rays (darn you, fair-skinned complexion!)?

It's time to immerse yourself in self-tanning knowledge. iVillage has an array of articles to get you "glowing" like you just stepped off the plane from Aruba.

A few tips -- Use gloves (or wash your hands periodically throughout the application process). Exfoliate your skin beforehand! Make sure your skin is dry. Apply just like a moisturizer. And finally, take your time -- everything needs at least 30 minutes to dry thoroughly.
