Self-defense stilettos

When we heard about Self-Defense Stilettos, we have to admit that we got really excited. We pictured shoes with a James Bond-esque component, like a button to shoot pepper spray out of the heel or a hidden compartment in the platform for a stun gun or something.

Tampon Stun Gun -- I'm totally serious

I know men are supposed to spontaneously combust whenever we see, hear, or think about feminine hygiene, but it's worth the risk to make you aware of my favorite new invention: the Tampon Stun Gun.
"Ladies can replace that monthly period with an exclamation mark as feminine hygiene goes lethal with The Pink Stinger, a stun gun creatively disguised as a tampon...except for the buttons, prods and high voltage. This weapon of mass absorption aims to target a niche market consumer, that being the tampon wielding women who desire private and discreet security in a friendly familiar package."

The sleek, elegant design creates a soothing, modern atheistic, coupled with the raw, yet effortless functionality, makes this a truly stylish option for the self-defense enthusiast.

Just kidding, this is lame. Assuming the mugger was willing to wait around for you dig through your purse for a "tampon," there's no way he'd let you touch him with it -- even if he thought it wouldn't zap the crap out of him. Plus, you know someone is going to use this like a normal tampon and get a very uncomfortable surprise.

No-contact jacket is like a taser you can wear

Ever wanted your own electric force field? The no-contact jacket allows you to send 80,000 volts of low-amperage, non-lethal electric current just under the surface of your entire jacket. Anyone who touches the coat while you've got it activated will experience some serious pain, plus lose voluntary muscle movement, giving you time to run away. Inside the jacket, you're protected from the zap by the rubbery interior.

It's actually a somewhat cute casual jacket. It looks like the type of thing I'd wear jogging at night, but I wonder if that rubbery interior might not be the most breathable fabric. Sweating so close to an electrical current would make me a little nervous.

The no-contact jacket is available for $950 at no-contact.com.

The "peacekeeper" handbag means business

When I saw this handbag from James Piatt I thought to myself, "Wow! cute purse! Wait... are those brass knuckles?" And the answer is yes, those are brass knuckles. And on this handbag, they are conveniently doubling as a handle. But don't worry, they easily detach should you need them for self defense.

I'm not sure that brass knuckles would really help me out that much if I was being attacked, since I've never used them before. But I guess if I owned this purse I could practice with the brass knuckles at home on a pillow or something? Unfortunately, a thief would probably grab my purse first, and in that case I'd be giving him a free pair of brass knuckles. And I should also point out that these brass knuckles are actually made out of polyurethane.

Like tough purses?
