Lindsay Lohan Launches Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist

Filed under: Events: On the Scene, Accessories, Cosmetics, Skin Care, Beauty Tips

Fresh back from her Hawaiian vacation, last night Lindsay Lohan stopped by the launch of her new line of self tanning spray at Santa Monica's 3rd Street Sephora. The style icon collaborated with Lort Simon to create Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist. Named after Lohan's lucky numbers 7 and 9, it's infused with goji berry extract and chardonnay to keep the skin hydrated.

While tourists and paparazzi stalked the promenade, Lindsay and sister Ali puckered up for my camera.

"I just used Sevin Nyne while on my vacation to Hawaii since I don't get to tan that much, and it works great," the actress told the crowd inside the beauty shop, while noshing on cheesecake lollipops. Lohan claimed she nearly missed the event due to a food poisoning incident in Hawaii that made her skip her flight late Wednesday night.

"I have tried every tanning product on the market and worked with the best tanners in the business. When Lorit and I met we thought it would be great to bring a quality product at a reasonable price to the market so everyone could enjoy a professional spray tan. Our hope is t that we can encourage women -- and me! -- to stay out of the sun and cherish their skin, " said Lindsay.

Starting today, May 1st, Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist is available in all Sephora's for $35.

Stylelist Giveaway - Ojon's NEW Batana Show Gel & Body Cream

Filed under: Skin Care, Contests & Giveaways

Calling all skincare junkies! Five lucky winners will be among the first to try Ojon's brand new Batana collection, which debuted Friday at Sephora.

The paraben-, preservative- and artificial color-free bath and body collection is packed with good-for-your-pelt natural ingredients like Acai, Biritu, Copaiba and Swa oils, plus, of course, the company's signature Ojon oil. The sulfate-free shower gel is created with a naturally foaming surfactant, and infused with oils to hydrate while it cleanses. The body cream is clinically proven to instantly increase skin's hydration by 51%, and the effects last up to 24 hours. Potent antioxidants protect skin from aging, and there's no greasy residue - it absorbs instantly. I'm using it and adore it - it literally changes the texture of my skin on contact and (bonus!) smells like the beach, all coconut and warm vanilla.

If you're not familiar with Ojon's amazing products, let me give you a little background: The line is based on oil extracted from the Ojon nut, harvested for centuries by the native Tawira people of Central America (known locally as "the people of beautiful hair" - really!) to hydrate their hair and bodies. In a story that rivals Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, company founder Denis Simioni traveled to the rain forests of Honduras to source Ojon oil, befriended the local people, and in cooperation with MOPAWI, developed a corporate partnership involving thousands of Tawira producers. This relationship has brought work to the formerly poor area, creating jobs for thousands and a local industry, while helping the Tawira people preserve their traditional lifestyle and the rain forests around them.

The Batana launch even took place at The United Nations in New York, at which Jorge Arturo Reina, the UN Ambassador to Honduras, expressed personal gratitude for the work Ojon is doing with the Tawira people in Honduras. As a seasoned beauty editor, I can vouch for the fact this was not your normal press event - most take place in trendy lofts or hotel suites - and to see firsthand the difference Ojon is making in Honduras was truly touching.

Isn't that a great story? But, what makes it truly impressive is that Ojon's products are like nothing you've ever tried before. See for yourself - sign up for our giveaway!

The Best of Sundance

Filed under: Events: On the Scene, Celebrities with Style

The Sundance Film Festival is known for showcasing the best in independent and documentary films. But it's famed for the parties and schwag!

If you weren't in Washington, D.C. preparing for Barack Obama to become our nation's 44th president, Park City, Utah was the place to be. Everyone from Anna Wintour (who was spotted at the airport in head-to-toe fur, but made a stunning debut at "The September Issue" premiere wearing a pair of jeans) to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (star of "Spread") treaded through the snowy terrains to celebrate Sundance's 25th anniversary.

DJ AM got the crowd rocking at the opening night of the "AXE Fix Club" and Paris Hilton took full advantage of the schwag, spotted in the Sephora Beauty Lounge, among others - where she had her choice of Sephora Brand goodies like Eye Studio Kits and Lash Plumper Mascara. Check out our Best of Sundance gallery to see some of the celebs who attended the festival. - Phebe Hunnicutt & Dana Oliver

Cat Lincoln

Cat Lincoln is a writer and photographer, and lives in San Francisco with her husband. She is theoretically very private, but in practice will reveal almost anything if it will get a laugh.

Although now firmly a West Coast resident, Cat continues to be influenced by the strict fashion rules of her Boston roots. That means she wears white year round, but has the good grace to lie about it to her grandmother.

Celebrities make frequent appearances in her pieces, and Cat is able to expound at length on the (huge!) difference between People and Us Weekly to anyone who will listen. She can talk about hair for hours. Also, she is a Gemini, and yes, it matters.

Completely addicted to products and in the habit of telling strangers on the bus about her latest find, Cat is equally at home cruising Sephora, haunting the Walgreens makeup aisle or scoring extra samples from Neiman Marcus Cosmetic Professionals.

Cat loves a bargain, junior mints at the movies and wearing false eyelashes with heavy black eyeliner. A former corporate marketing executive, she is thrilled to be writing non-fiction.
