ModelCo Disco Lights Lipstick Actually Lights up!

disco lights lipglossNow this is cool. If you are of legal age or have a very convincing fake I.D., then more likely than not you've experienced the following: it's getting about that time to exit the club and you want to put on a little lipgloss and because of the darkness you can't find it to save your life.

DuWop Cosmetics gives us the glow we love

Filed under: Cosmetics, Style for a Cause, Product Reviews

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, DuWop Cosmetics let us try out their BCA products (which you might have already seen here). They sent us a sample of their Limited Edition Liplingo Pink lip palette ($32) as well as their Limited Edition Pink Shimmer Brick ($18), both of which come in a sleeve bearing the names of women who have been affected by breast cancer.

First, let's talk lips. We are not generally big fans of lipstick -- we lean more toward the glosses. But, this lip palette is different -- the lipstick itself is a really natural shade of pink, plus, it's super moisturizing. Even better are the shimmery glosses that go over it. They feel fabulous and add just the right amount of dewiness and shimmer (not to mention flexibility) -- not too young or sparkly, just fun.

The Shimmer Brick also qualifies as fun -- it's really subtle, so you don't need to worry about looking like you're heading to a rave or anything. It works well as a highlighter on the cheek and brow, or the collarbone. Or, when used all over our face, it gave us a dewy look and helped to even out our skin tone.

Jennife Lopez: glittering dress-up

Filed under: Cosmetics, Celebrities with Style

Jennifer Lopez always has a glow about her, as if she was dipped in shimmering star dust. Her nails are just as glamorous as the rest of her, with a subtle but distinct pink shine. If you're a glitzy girl, then Jenny's style is the way to go. Her nails are just a little longer than some other ladies wear, and have a bedazzled glaze, like grown up body glitter made especially for nails. Try OPI Thrills in Beverly Hills Glitter Topcoat.

Crazy cravings: Shiseido Dick Page summer collection kit at Sephora

Maybe it's the magic words "limited edition" or that it has the word "summer" in the name, but we're totally having to fight the urge to spend $126 on this Shiseido make up kit.

Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page put this palette together, and the description on Sephora.com is filled with glowy-this and shimmery-that. Plus the kit comes with blotting papers. And directions! So much neat new stuff to play with.

Be okay, we must admit that the yellow and green eyeshadows would probably look kind of scary on most people, including us.

Plus, we're pretty sure we can pick up bronzer, mascara, lipstick and a couple of kooky colored eyeshadows down at Walgreens for under $30. It wouldn't come in a neat-o case, but it might get us out of these early summer make up doldrums, and save $100.
