I love soft, neutral colors. I love 100% silk with satin banding. I love the comfort and ease of a wide, open neckline that doesn't choke and short, ruffled sleeves that don't get in my way. I love no waistline. I love minidresses that can go from daytime in the office to early evening at that cute bistro on the corner.

We know that the jeweled neckline is "in," but we're still a little too chicken-shy to wear rhinestones and gems the size of baseballs stitched onto our collars. The U-shaped neckline on Trina Turk's Bonita Dress has, instead, more subtle sequins that whisper rather than scream "look at my chest!" If you fell in love with Mandy Moore's ultra feminine look on the cover of Lucky magazine's October 2007 issue, well, you can get most of it with a single piece. What looks like a ruffle-front camisole over a high-waisted gray tweed skirt is actually a dress by Black Halo. The bodice is 100% ivory silk, attached to the skirt that also includes a thin belt. Mandy's got a little cardigan over the dress, making it work for the office, but you can take that dress right to cocktail hour without a cover-up.
