Owen Wilson - moving to solar powered community in Hawaii

Filed under: Haute Home, Celebrities with Style

Owen Wilson is joining his buddy Woody Harrelson in Hawaii. And they're not just going to sip Mai Tai and surf. Oh no! They're going to conserve while they sip Mai Tais and surf!

After visiting Woody at his completely solar powered, sustainable community featuring organic farming on Maui, Owen has decided to score his own place in the development.

Following his, shall we say rocky year, Owen is definitely in need of some serenity and we hope he finds it. Really, how bad can it be? Sand, surf, coconut-scented air? Plus the smug satisfaction that only 100% green living can give you. Sounds like paradise to us!

We're looking forward to seeing the green incarnation of Owen's style. Will he go full-hemp like Woody? Or take a more activist approach like Leonardo?

Pink and nerdy.Seriously? Seriously. Look at this hat.

We are stunned. We are delighted and repulsed. We have two questions. They work separately and together: Why? Pink? Why pink?

Triumph International create solar-powered bra; has some design flaws

Filed under: Style in the News, Swimwear and Lingerie

Triumph International of Japan have a track record of producing innovative/weird bra concepts such as a bra to promote the use of chopsticks (sounds potentially dangerous!) and a bra which could be turned into a shopping bag (whether as it is being worn or afterwards, we're not clear). So why not create a bra which incorporates some nice green, sustainable solar power? (Apart from the fact that underwear rarely needs a power source, of course...)

Shade Blade: part headgear, part solar power station

Tired of wearing aviator-style sunglasses -- just like every other fashionable person you know? Here's a piece of headgear, labeled "the ultimate pair of sunglasses" that will certainly set you apart.

Granted, they're not the most attractive shades I've ever seen -- but it's clear the designers were shooting for function over form. The visor is a solar array, which charges batteries, that in turn power a number of on-board gadgets. You probably already noticed the built-in earphones (the little metallic tube coming out the back), and the designers envision one day adding AM/FM radio, a cellphone -- even "vision transmission technology" (whatever that is).

Sounds impressive, but if they want anyone to wear this thing, they'll have to make it better-looking. Right now it seems more like a costume piece from the Robocop movies than a fashion accessory.
