The cell phone - a man's most useful accessory

Filed under: Accessories, Style in the News

After telling you last week about how AT&T is helping all of those frantically texting girls get and keep the guy with Texitquette, we're glad to see that AT&T is looking out for their male customers, too.

eBay WTF of the Day: MAJOR TRENDS vest

I hail from the planet Zaag. Really? We're gonna have to call a WTF all over this zippered vest.

First of all, seller Goodbuybarry has listed this item as "UNUSUAL METAL MASK! Black & Brown WOOL Vest SZ XL." Really? Is the metal mask what sets it apart? We think the most distinctive thing about this vest is that it looks exactly like a Star Trek uniform.

And the mask? Just makes it look more like a Star Trek uniform. Okay, not exactly-exactly. This will have to be deemed a uniform for someone from a planet we just made up called Zaag.

eBay WTF of the Day: Lilac leather loo roll

Leather: UR DOIN IT RONGSo, this is weird. It's sort of...Star Trek for your mother, in lavender leather. Lilac leather. Leather of an unusual color. Rsoaks wants you to have this "Unusual stylin' Lilac Leather Jacket" because it is too big for her.

This is our favorite quote from the listing:
"Note: When I purchased this, it was from a home where there was smoking. I can't really smell it anymore."

Great. Thanks for the non-committal warning/reassurance/warning (?).

The weirdest thing about this is that it 100% shapeless. No waist, no collar really; it's more like a convenient opening so that you can see. If you zippered it all the way up, we imagine you'd look cylindrical, like a lavender toilet paper roll with arms. Made of leather.

That's a weird look, guys. WTF?

Elle Macpherson's sexy online lingerie catalog

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Celebrities with Style

If anyone knows about underwear, it's Elle "the Body" Macpherson. Both lingerie model and mogul, her Intimates line has some of the sexiest bra and panty pairings out there.

Perhaps it's been around for a while, but we just came across the intriguing website for Intimates which features Elle's online "magazine." The current "issue" has provocative photo spreads, like the voyeristic "What the Butler Saw" and "Rear Window" both of which feature faceless figures captured in suggestive poses, and yes, include plenty of shots of behinds, with and without panties. Not to mention the title spread, "In the Boudoir" which relies on some artful blurring that just barely keeps it from being too revealing.

Coolest. Glasses. Ever.

Is that a home theater system on your head or are you just happy to see us? If you chose anything but "both" then keep reading. We've got something to show you.

The Vuzix iWear may look like something off of Star Trek, but it's much cooler. That's right, we said something was cooler than Star Trek (see Battlestar Galactica), deal with it.

This "face-furniture" as the good people at Firebox call it, provides "a fully immersive audiovisual assault" that replicates watching a 62" screen from a safe distance. Really. It's like watching a huge big screen on your face.

Star Trek home theater: the ultimate in geek decor

With the emergence of Web 2.0 in mainstream pop culture, and the emergence of uber-nerdy pastimes like retro-gaming, one thing is clear: it's cool to be a geek.

And what could possibly be more geeky than Star Trek?

Therefore, Gary Sekulow wins the award for most awesome interior design scheme ever, thanks to his shockingly realistic recreation of the Star Trek set -- re-invented as his home theater. He collected back-lit panels from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Voyager (two of the series many incarnations), and got the captain's chair from Star Trek Enterprise, along with a bunch of props from the many Star Trek movies. Then he hired a local home theater installer to put the whole thing together.

It's a little too sci-fi for my taste, but it's easily the most impressive example of geek decor I've ever seen.
