Abigail Breslin's Look - Too Grown Up?

Abigail Breslin looking lovely at the NYC premiere of "My Sister's Keeper," but is the look too sophisticated for a 13-year-old? Photo: Getty Images

Abigail Breslin has always seemed wise beyond her years -- in interviews, she comes across smarter and more articulate than half of her adult co-stars.

She has also managed to successfully bridge the gap between little girl and glamorous movie star on the red carpet.

At least, she had until now. The 13-year-old's most recent red carpet look at the New York City premiere of "My Sister's Keeper," is considerably more adult than what we're accustomed to seeing her in and so not what we would expect from Breslin.

Undeniably, she looks beautiful. The light lavender, draped chiffon dress is right on-target, fashion-wise, and her metallic heels perfectly compliment her frock.

Women's Undie Awards results

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Style for a Cause

Thanks to all of our great readers who participated in the Undies Award Poll and helped raise awareness -- and money -- for cervical cancer education.

The results are in, and they are just as exciting as we hoped. Push-up bras! G-strings! Surprisingly sexy boy shorts! And so many strapless bras! With all these sweet choices, it's a wonder celebs are ever caught without their skivvies. We're ready to run out and replace our entire underwear drawer.

Check out the gallery of winners, and visit Undies Award sponsors Her Room for prices and purchasing info.

Oh, and by the way, there's a Men's Undie Awards, too. You may want to browse those winners, maybe for Father's Day gift ideas...or maybe just to help pass the day...

What to wear under your red carpet dress: Victoria's Secret Very Sexy 100

Filed under: Swimwear and Lingerie, Red Carpet Trends

Well, the pre-red carpet coverage on E! (yes, I started tuning in at 4:30 -- what?!?) included a short fashion show from Victoria's Secret, and one of the items they really pushed as a must-have red carpet undergarment was the Very Sexy 100-way Strapless Convertible Bra.

On the television, I have to admit, it looks like a bit of a miracle -- they showed a couple of different necklines and types of straps, and the bra was able to accommodate them all. However, they didn't exactly get to 100 different styles, so I'm not sure how accurate the name is. Also, none of the models were particularly well-endowed, so I'd be very curious to see how the bra worked for a more busty broad who actually needed the support.

I then checked out some reviews and was pretty disappointed to see that many women who tried the bra on were less than thrilled it. It seems to be a good concept but perhaps needs a little work. At any rate, if you have a gown (red carpet or otherwise) with a neckline that seems to make wearing a bra impossible, you might want to check out your friendly neighborhood Victoria's Secret and give this bra a try. Or, if you already have, let me know what you thought of it!

Dress of the Day: Shoals Harvest Dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

shoals harvest dress at anthropologieWith Monday off (for most "normal" people with "normal" jobs) we're on a little weekend getaway. Though we didn't get to pack up and head to a private beach resort in the tropics nor to a luxury lodge tucked away in the Rockies, we have gotten to go somewhere slightly warmer than home and are inspired this weekend by "resort wear."

The Shoals Harvest doesn't sound very resort with "harvest" in the name, but the 100% sateen cotton, bright cayenne colored strapless dress is definitely meant for wearing with a pair of platform wedge espadrilles on a veranda. The pleated, boned bodice has a nipped-in waist with wide band that lets out to a floaty skirt that falls a modest 33".

Available from Anthropologie for $128.

Dress of the Day: Marie Marie Pocket Dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

marie marie pocket dressThough this dress is pretty cute on its appearance alone, I have to admit that I am pointing it out today for purely financial reasons. The Pocket Dress by Marie Marie is on sale at Shopbop for $130.50, which is a considerable discount from its original price of $435. That's almost 75% off.

Of course, the cotton and wool strapless dress is pretty cute, which makes the sale price even more attractive. The dress is lined with 100% silk, has boning at bust for shape, and a fitted bottom hem that forms a bubble skirt. The pockets have a 1" band and are ruched, creating even more volume in the skirt area. I love that what is typically taken as a more formal style, strapless, is shown in a casual look with leggings underneath (not that I'd actually wear it in this way).
