What is the world coming to? Sean Penn and Petra Nemcova are dating while Elle Macpherson gets her groove thang on with a 21 year old boy named Vito.

Rather than be shocked or appalled by Elle's decision to date a man that's literally half her age I'm actually kind of jealous. She's a smoking hot cougar, and if, at age 44, she's still got it, who are we to judge? As long as it's legal, they might as well go for it!

Vito's dad doesn't care either. He said, "They're hanging out. It's not like he's smuggling heroin across the border! It's not a big deal." But, even though the blog world is all up in a frenzy with news of Elle and Vito canoodling, she has denied it when asked if they were dating saying, "No, I am not. Sorry. I never talk about my personal life but in this particular case, because he is nearly underage, I have to deny it because there is nothing else to do except deny it."

As for Sean Penn and Petra Nemcova, I'm not really sure what's going on there. I would have thought the rumors of these two hooking up were totally false -- but there are pictures to prove it! It's obvious that Sean has a thing for gorgeous super models (I mean, really, who doesn't?). He was linked to both Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen in the last year alone! Sean must have some kind of super power. Dictators and insanely hot women alike are drawn to him -- lucky guy!

Guess again, girls. It's Tyra Banks.

You read that right. The most famous supermodel in the world is none other than Talk of the (talk) Town, Tyra Banks. I myself would never have guessed; I would have thought along the lines of more internationally known models like Cindy Crawford or Elle MacPherson (or Linda Evangelista, with whom I was obsessed for a while as a teenager). Womens Wear Daily actually polled 1800 people to find out who the Top 10 Supermodels were, and also ranked them by what percentage of the group were familiar with the model's name. In order from highest to lowest:

1) Tyra Banks, 78%
2) Cindy Crawford, 77%
3) Christie Brinkley, 73%
4) Naomi Campbell, 67%
5) Kate Moss, 56%
6) Elle Macpherson, 51%
7) Heidi Klum, 46%
8) Rachel Hunter, 45%
9) Gisele Bundchen, 29%
10) Christy Turlington, 28%

Remember that Diet Coke commercial with Cindy Crawford that came out a few years ago? If you do, you'll also remember how wonderful she looked in it -- all post-pregancy, out of the industry, I've gained some weight and started eating carbs again foxy? Cindy was as beautiful then as she was in 1993.

And she still looks amazing. But not all of the old supermodels have been treated quite so well by Father Time. This month, W Magazine has an editorial series featuring all of the old cover girls: Cheryl Tiegs, Pat Cleveland, Christy Turlington, and yes, Naomi Campbell. And some of them look good -- Shalom Harlow -- and some of them don't -- Rachel Hunter.

Personally, I love the idea of using old guard supermodels, but I have to say that I'm not a fan of Juergen Teller's strong lighting and white background. The harsh setting makes the photos look more like expensive mug shots than high-end editorial fashion photography. But who is asking me?
