What should you wear on your walk to the beach? Certainly not just your swimsuit and nothing else! *shock, gasp, horror* You need something more elaborate than that, something to cover up your nearly naked body until you arrive on the sand where it is acceptable. A "cover up" perhaps? Bingo!

Oh those lanky, leggy girls who can wear just about anything. Yes, that means the lucky few like Whitney Port, Blake Lively, Paris Hilton, and the fierce (and seriously scary) Naomi Campbell.

We dedicate the last "Suit up" installment to those long ladies that we secretly despise for their limby... uh... ness.

Why do celebrities always look so damn good in their bathing suits? Personal trainers, in-house chefs, and puking aside, they look good because their stylist dresses them every day (damn them). But you don't need a stylist. No, no child; that's what you have us for.

Here are a few tips for the svelte, bootylicious, buff, and lanky among us. This will be broken down into a four part section, so if you don't see your body type today, check back with us tomorrow k?

At the risk of sounding a little bit nutso, we definitely think there is an art to packing the ultimate beach bag. If you can pack it up with essentials and still keep it light, then you've got the knack.

Does the idea of strutting your stuff in a string bikini make you cringe? Some women get so concerned about wearing a bathing suit in public that they forget about the one item that should be at the top of their shopping lists for beach season -- a cute cover-up.

If you've got some extra bulges to hide, or just want to be modest, don't settle for an old tee and a pair of gym shorts -- treat yourself to a swimsuit cover-up that you truly love.

Parke & Ronen make stylish swimwear for men that range from classic preppy to classic board short. Of their four basic types of suit, bikini, 4" swim, 8" swim and snap short, respectively, our favorite is the 8" swim. It's not that we don't care for the other options that they carry, we really do, but frankly, if we tried to wear any of the other styles onto the beach we'd most likely be arrested. Or at the very least ridiculed until we wound up under the pier in the fetal position.

When we think of Old Navy's swimsuit selection, our minds instantly drift to preppy pink patters, flirty florals, and a few retro prints rounding it out. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and were confronted with a glamorous metallic, plunging, deep-v neck one-piece!

Some of the swimwear shown by Amaya Swimwear looked like something you might pick up this summer for your neighbor's pool party -- fresh, pretty, flattering, and totally wearable.

Other pieces, however, were High Fashion Swimwear, with capes, cutouts, and details you wouldn't dare get wet -- perfect for days out on the yacht or that A-list pool party in the Hamptons. Seriously fashionable or seriously wearable, all the suits had stunning details and interesting accents.

I loved that they ran the gamut -- it almost seemed like real people could wear even this to the beach, given the proper motivation (like promise of really, really beautiful boys). And, for the most part, the models were beautiful and real; a couple looked underfed, but most of them looked healthy and comfortable in their skin. And that is a Good Thing for those of us feeling just a little nervous about beach season.

It's Fall, the time of year when leaves turn various shades of orange and red, and the crisp air prepares itself for the oncoming Winter. What better time to talk about bikinis? All right, so it's not really swimming weather, but the prices of bikinis are getting slashed like mad! Take advantage of the out-of-season merchandise and buy your dream bikini, complete with the comfort of knowing that you have almost ten months to hit the gym and chisel your body. Here's a list of some of the hottest bikinis to help you on your way...

1. The Classic String Bikini: This baby is like swimwear's version of the little black dress... the very, very, very little black dress. It brings immediate Sports Illustrated sexiness (when not obscenely itty-bitty), but it does have a few downfalls... A) It doesn't offer much support and B) America's Funniest Home Videos has far too many accounts of these things flying away from water slides. If you don't have a rebellious bust and/or plans to take a 200 ft plunge into a pool of tourists, a string bikini will probably be the easiest choice. Victoria's Secret has a lovely and simple triangle string bikini for $24.

Vizeau sells some of the most amazing underwear (and swimwear) for men I've ever seen. While the site is a bit of a sensory overload (turn down your speakers, seriously), the designs range from the brilliant to the outrageous. And, as you see from the pic, there's a "secret" undie section with some rather racy undergarments that I don't think are designed to be worn under a tuxedo. That is, unless the tux is designed to be ripped off the body quickly. The secret section is not safe for work, so be careful. Now I need to get to the gym so I can wear the less racy stuff!
