Stephen Baldwin has a Hannah Montana Tattoo

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

Stephen BaldwinEw. Stephen Baldwin has a Hannah Montana tattoo. Someone call the ... we don't know who to call. The fashion police, surely. The regular police? Maybe not. The sanitarium? His parents? Well, Stephen Baldwin is famously a born again Christian, so maybe someone should call God.

Miley Cyrus, who plays Disney's Hannah Montana, says that Usual Suspects star Stephen Baldwin, who is the father of one of her friends, wanted to be on her hit show Hannah Montana. Being the little spitfire that she is,

Louis Vuitton pigs banned from art exhibition - Living sculpture

Filed under: Fashionable Food, Style in the News

Of all the bizarre works of sculpture that find their way into museums these days, where exactly does one draw the line between art and plain old weirdness? For the curators of the Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair, the line is apparently drawn at pigs and their body art. According to the Telegraph, officials in Shanghai decided to ban Wim Delvoye's infamous tattooed pigs, some decorated to look like Louis Vuitton handbags, after a slew of complaints rained in from China's animal lovers.

Being bald is money! Or, at least, it can be with Kiwi Airline

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

We've always known that people with gorgeous hair can make money as hair models, but we never realized that being bald could be so lucrative -- New Zealand's national airline, Kiwi Airline, is searching for 50 male passengers willing to have temporary tattoos slapped on their bald heads sharing the message about the airline's new check-in service.

The men won't go through this humiliation for naught, though -- they'll be paid the equivalent of $666 for walking around with "cranial billboards."

Pharrell tires of tats, grows new skin to cover them

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrities with Style

Now that he's getting older, Pharrell Williams no longer thinks his tattoos look good on him, and so he will be undergoing a revolutionary process to cover them up ... with his own skin. It's basically like a skin graft, the 35-year-old singer told Vogue, only "you're not taking skin from your ass or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you."

Tooth tats: bling for your mouth

In the ongoing quest to find newer, weirder, uglier kinds of ways to augment the human body, there are plenty of people out there getting questionable tattoos in even more questionable places. Still, we can't really imagine "tooth art" catching on. That's right, there's a studio in Utah that actually offers tooth art (more accurately 'crown art') for people who want to look like they have a piece of spinach permanently caught in their teeth.

We don't really understand the idea behind this body-art innovation at all. The website explains it as a kind of white-collar tattoo that can be removed in only a few minutes with a dentist's grinder, but their samples show teeth branded with portraits of Amy Winehouse, Mickey Mouse and Tiger Woods. It seems more like they're trying to market these to teens and tweens -- along with braces and headgear. Are they serious? Do they really think parents are going to go for that in Utah?

Kat Von D makeup at Sephora

Filed under: Cosmetics, Celebrities with Style

You'd expect Kat Von D to have her make up tattoo'd on, right? Us too! So we were surprised to see that she has an exclusive new line of make up at Sephora.

It's a limited line, just a couple of smokey eyeshadow palettes, four lipsticks and some liquid liners. Oh, and a brush kit they refer to as "cool tattools." Sigh. Everyone with the puns.

Don't it make my brown eyes blue: Eye tattoos

Just in case you weren't satisfied with the wide array of color contacts out there, either because you don't feel like they look natural or because of those silly instructions telling you to take them out once in a while, you'll be glad to know that you might have an option. A Toronto man nicknamed Pauly Unstoppable (of course) got an eyeball tattoo. Say it with me: EEEEWWWWW!!!!

Over 40 injections were made into the man's eyeball in order to turn it blue. Not just the iris -- the whole thing. The procedure was entirely experimental (and GROSS), and Mr. Unstoppable made a point to say that this was something and his tattoo artist had researched, and that nobody should try this until he finds out whether it will make him go blind or not.

Fantastic. Hope those blue (eye)balls are worth it, man.

Scarlett Johansson sports kid's tattoo: New trend, or just lame?

Letting some stranger jab you with a needle over and over while they dye your skin with ink -- permanently -- takes some serious commitment. After all tattoos hurt, they look awful if you gain weight, and if you're really unlucky, can leave you with a spelling error forever etched into your neck -- so trust me kids, it's not a decision to be made lightly.

Unless you're Scarlett Johansson. She showed up at the London premiere of her new movie, The Other Boleyn Girl, adorned with this odd little decoration. Is it real? Just temporary? Did she steal it from a 10-year-old girl? Nobody knows.

But the overly-cutesy, ocean scape certainly leaves something to be desired, design-wise. Maybe it's a symbol for whatever pseudo-religious, trendy Hollywood cult thing she's into these days, or maybe it's an indication that Scarlett secretly decorates her bedroom with frilly pink unicorns jumping over rainbows and excessive amounts of Hello Kitty schwag.

Whatever it is, let's hope it washes off.

Taking Hello Kitty love to a whole new level

Kitty JesusSometimes people like to get tattoos of their favorite cartoon characters as a way of taking their fan-dedication to the next level. However, there is a line between "big fan" and "someone who is hyper-obsessed, with bad taste". This post is about a tattoo that falls in the latter category.

Styledash has reported on a lot of extravagant and weird ways that Hello Kitty fans have shown their love, but this "Hello Kitty is my Jesus" tattoo probably one of the most bizarre ones. First of all... Why? Why in the world would anyone want that? Is this the ultimate example of why people shouldn't get drunk near tattoo parlors? Or did a lucid person genuinely believe that this was a good idea? The strangest thing is that I find myself most weirded out by the fact that Hello Kitty has really awkward facial hair.

In three years' time, this person is going to be super-embarrassed by their tattoo choice. And by "three years", I mean "three days".

Britney gets some tattoos, loses all hair

Filed under: Hair Care, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

Bald BritneyI'm sorry to report that this picture was not manipulated with Photoshop. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, Britney Spears shaved her head.

I'll be honest: I actually thought about doing the same thing a few years ago. However, after briefly examining the shape of my skull with my fingers, I realized that I have a lumpy head and quickly decided to keep all of my hair. I doubt Britney even took that into consideration. She was probably mumbling to herself the whole time, "Demi, Demi. GI Jane. Natalie, Natalie. V for Vendetta." In a sense, I suppose her reasons for this drastic change are understandable... She said that she was sick of people always touching her. After this, she went to a tattoo parlor and had a bunch of people touch her as she got a few designs done on her wrists and hip.

Britney is probably going through a really tough time right now. She has yet to make a sexy post-divorce comeback and, only a few days ago, she checked in and out of rehab. You know what might make her feel better? Going home and taking care of her kids. Yeah. Those things.

Permanent makeup - StyleDo or StyleDon't?

Filed under: Style in the News, Cosmetics, Steals and Deals

I'm beginning to think I should buy stock in Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. Being a natural blonde has some perks, but they don't include lush, dark lashes; and, unless the no-eyelashes look becomes all the rage, I am going to have to keep buying mascara.

Or am I? More and more women are turning to permanent makeup for the look, convenience, and ease the procedure supposedly provides. I'll admit, the thought of a) having tattoo needles on my face, and b) wearing the same makeup style for the rest of my life has always made me grimace. But upon further investigation, permanent makeup might not be all bad.

Many women have extremely sensitive skin, and are not able to wear much, if any, makeup on a regular basis. Other women suffer from shaky hands or nearsightedness, and are unable to apply makeup satisfactorily. Still others (like myself) have very blonde eyelashes and/or eyebrows and might benefit from a permanent dye-job.

There are risks, including sterility concerns and potentially dangerous color additives. But all in all, the procedure seems to be gaining speed.

What do you think? Would permanent makeup improve your beauty routine?

Tattooes without the commitment: Tattooed Steel

Tattooed SteelI find tattooes hot, kind of the way I find a bad boy hot -- I like to look, I love the idea, but I don't think I have the guts to do it (or him) myself. These days though, there are lots of options for tat-lovers, without the commitment (and pain) of getting pircked with ink-soaked needles. There are henna tattooes that wash off eventually, and even other forms of temporary tattooes, but if you like to change your look daily, then you can have the beauty of a tattoo on a piece of jewelry. Tattooed Steel takes tattoo artists' designs and puts them on brushed steel jewelry. They have some fierce looking necklaces and godtags, but I love the cuff -- kind of makes you think you're as tough as Wonder Woman.
