Faux Foxy, a dead fox without the death

INDVSL- Faux Foxy
Foxy lady! Jimmy Hendricks had the right idea (and now I have that song in my head).

INDVSL has created this hysterical "Faux Foxy" tee shirt that has the look of fox stole draped around your neck without the actual death of a fox -- just the sweet, sweet look of fashionable death.

This tee shirt is hilarious! The second I saw it my mouth dropped open ... I gasped ... I laughed ... then I fumbled around for my credit card. My favorite part is the little fox tongue hanging out. I am a sick, sick girl. No foxes were harmed during th making of this shirt.

Buy it at INDVSL for $38 for the short sleeved version and $48 for the long sleeved version.

Playground worthy fashion

I can remember hanging out at the bus stop listening to all of the mom's bicker back and forth about how inappropriate it was to allow your children to watch The Simpson's. I was of course one of those inappropriate children that was allowed to watch those crazy yellow skinned characters act out on the small screen. Even though I was allowed to watch my family didn't let me advertise such behavior, so my wardrobe was limited to my Limited Too outfits and clothing from The Children's Place.

There was one girl in my class who was sort of the rebel child. I had my first cosmetics experience with her (gosh we looked like whores) which consisted of a heavy coating of Wet 'n' Wild, extra heavy on the 'wild'. Her clothes were pretty shabby, but there was one outfit that I was super jealous of ... her Maggie Simpson tee shirt. She wore that tee at least once a week with a denim mini skirt, black leggings, and white Keds. No matter how many of the other kids made fun of her for wearing that hideous mess, I still kind of wanted the shirt.

This may not be Maggie but this shirt is dedicated to you, my former playground pal, a Bart Simpson tee shirt. I am who could have ever imagined that the Simpson's tee-shirts you used to wear back in elementary school would make such a comeback almost twenty years later? Now you have the last laugh.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm an all-year-round t-shirt loving kind of girl. And with this week's "Fashion Gives Back", a design/charity movement spearheaded by Glamour magazine and six young, all-female design houses, I have more reason than ever to add to my ever-expanding collection of cute tees.

Jenni Kayne, Rachel Roy, Rodarte, Sari Gueron, Thread Social, and Vena Cava will each produce a special, limited edition design to be screened onto a $68 Splendid tee, with each design signed personally by the designer. The shirts will be sold exclusively at Shopbop.com, and 30% of all proceeds will go to the designers' respective charities.

The short descriptive previews of the tees sound super cute, from Sari Gueron's watercolor owl to Jenni Kayne's rough sketch of a Grecian-gowned woman surrounded by poppies. At the very least, you can be sure your top is one of a very few: each designer will only produce 250 tees.

Cowboys and Indians

Funky, irreverent and just plain fun are all terms that I would use to describe the shirts at Threadless. I 'm a huge fan of their user-submitted designs and, frankly, so is almost everyone I meet. Granted, they aren't always familiar with the company, but if the number of compliments I've received on some of the designs is any indication, there are people who would make their entire wardrobes from Threadless stuff if they could. Cowboys and Indians is one of their newest designs and it pretty much sums up the surrealist edge of their products. The shirt the design is printed on is bright orange and made by American Apparel.
