Divine Design Logo
The rock-bottom economy has caused an influx of designer sample sales. But with so many options and so little time, might we suggest Divine Design: a shopping extravaganza (and no, we don't use the word lightly) that benefits Project Angel Food.

Five dresses - light to dark

We're at that strange time of the year when we're very likely to be sitting by the pool reading fashion magazines filled with the sophisticated clothes of the fall collections, those gorgeous knits in rich colors that make us wish for cooler weather - until we remember what a pain scraping ice off a car's windshield can be. Then we take another sip of ice tea and promise ourselves to enjoy what's left of the season and maybe treat ourselves to one of those summer treats - the simple, easy sundress, all the while promising ourselves that this fall will be the fall that we start dressing like An Adult.

We say this: Why not do it all? This week we brought you everything from the lightest of sundresses to a sophisticated Theory dress made for layering - because every season has its advantages, and we should celebrate them all.

Double good: Support ovarian cancer and get a Felix Ray clutch for $36

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Daily Obsession

You know Felix Ray from Sex in the City, and you've seen Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton carrying bags with the signature bow.

Usually you have to go to Kitson, Henri Bendel, or Saks and pay $200 or more for a Felix Ray bag. But you can pick up this pretty Small Metal Mesh Bow clutch for a mere $36 at the "Rolls Royce of all garage sales."

It gets better! The proceeds go to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. So you're not shopping, you're donating!

This wonderous sale, dubbed Super Saturday 11 will be held in Walter Mill, NY on Saturday, July 26th. If you're not local to the area, you're still in luck, because they're partnering with QVC and QVC.com to make this bag, as well as select items from over 200 designers, available to the rest of us.

The other designers include Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein. At QVC and QVC.com you'll find hot designers like ADAM Adam Lippes, alice+olivia, and Theory.

Got your heart set on that Felix Ray bag? Here's a shopping tip: the item # on QVC is: #S4061. Happy donating!

I want that! Rachel Bilson's outfit, head to toe

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Clothing, Shoes, Dresses, Celebrities with Style, Get the Look

Rachel Bilson has a great sense of style - fact. Her look from the May 15 launch of Rogan for Target at Barney's in Beverly Hills is a great example of her classic, eclectic look that often mixes high fashion with low. She seamlessly blends a blazer with a bohemian style crocheted dress, neon bangles, and fashion forward open toe boots – a mish mash that probably shouldn't work together but do on Miss Bilson.

Our favorite piece here has to be those killer boots. God, we're such shoe whores.

Jacket: Theory Tailor Jacket, $365, Saks.com
Dress: Crochet Tank Dress, $49, Arden B.
Boots: Martin Margiela, $385. Barneys.com
Bangles: Exotic Bangles, Sold out, Spiegel.com
Bag: Chanel Cloudy Bundle Tote, $1,725 chanel.com

Dress of the Day: Theory Keyhole Dress

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses, Must Haves

theory keyhole dressNormally, I love Theory, but restrict myself from looking at the stuff because though it is not as expensive as, say, an $800 pair of pants from Dolce & Gabbana, it still isn't cheap. However, Neiman Marcus is having a pre-pre-Holiday sale, it seems, with clothes, shoes, bags and accessories on sale; some things are more than 50% off (which means they're likely way out of season, but hey, it's never too early to stock up for Spring!) The Keyhole Dress by Theory is made from 96% wool, with a little bit of spandex to hug your curves. The neckline is high and round, making it sweet and modest, but has a deep keyhole that just hints at your inner sass. The dress comes in charcoal, and though it is pictured with a simple pair of heels, it would look great with a pair of opaque tights and ankle boots.

The dress was $355, on sale for $213 at Neiman Marcus.

Dress of the Day: Theory Carr T-shirt Dress

theory carr t-shirt dressIf the Spring 2007 fashion shows were any indication, then a girl will never have too many dresses (at least for the next few months)!. Since that's the case, we're picking a fabulous dress every day, whether it's a dreamy couture cocktail dress that might be slightly out of our price range, or something more practical, like this dress from Theory. The Carr T-shirt dress is actually a tank-style, empire-waisted dress made of soft jersey. It has forgiving ruching at the neck, and though it may seem summery, something like this is perfect basic piece for layering this fall under a big, cozy sweater.

The dress is on sale at Shopbop for $133.
