Why aren't you wearing this? Silk chainlink-print scarf

We've got a great way to show your spooky Halloween spirit without looking like you went shopping in Spencer's -- how about a bright silk scarf, like this Silk chainlink-print scarf, on sale for $48.30 at Banana Republic?

Your Princess is in another castle. Get a day job!

Filed under: Accessories, Men, Gift Guides, Must Haves

We love this tie. We love how emo the model is. Wouldn't you be emo if you were ripped from your 8-bit world into this crazy, disorganized one? No fire flowers, no invincibility stars...from superhero to plumber in a financial crisis.

Brian Batt at Mad Men wrap party - Style Foul!

Filed under: Clothing, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

There's a reason you never hear the phrase "Lovely Man Flower." Bryan Batt, was kind enough to wear Exhibit A to the Mad Men season two wrap party, demonstrating that there's no such thing as a formal aloha floral pant.

Bryan's character Salvatore Romano is an art director with a secret. Here he's making no secret of his bad judgment. As much as we love a black and white pattern, it works better on a tie. Or curtains, which kind of makes sense when you learn that Bryan is also a interior designer. Maybe he just saw them in the window and had to have them.

Look, at this point we're just grateful he didn't buy the matching jacket. Thank you for small favors, Bryan!

eBay WTF of the Day: Making a statement with your tie

kibble.
Shame on you, Nicole Miller. Look at this tie, for sale here on eBay by someone who actually named their own self "being_lovely."

A tie can say a lot about a man. All kinds of crazy analysts (and probably some sane ones) chime in when it's time to pick what color tie a political candidate should wear to a debate, for example. From our personal experience, we know that a bright blue tie makes us like you, and a bright orange tie makes us hate you. (Not really.) (Okay, sort of.) (Maybe just Annie.)

Are neckties going extinct?

Filed under: Men, Celebrities with Style

You didn't really just give your dad another tie for Father's Day did you? I hope you included a gift receipt.

In the past century we've seen bow ties, skinny ties, fat ones, long and short ones ... you name it, guys wore it. And now the latest trend in neckties for guys is ... no tie at all.

E! Online has a gallery of A-list guys who've been seen sans necktie, including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and John Mayer. While the red carpet scene is (of course) faster to accept the tieless look than Wall Street, it definitely could be a sign of things to come.

Is this the beginning of the end for the old "suit and tie" duo? Before you insist that ties are here to stay, think about this: What purpose does a necktie really serve? A fashion accessory without a purpose is always at risk of disappearing completely (think powdered wigs), or else becoming something that's only worn to look retro or classic (think kids wearing top hats and long coattails to prom.)

Watches with a necktie twist

It's been a long time since watch bands were simple leather bands to hold your watch in place. Today, there are all sorts of variations on the watch bands, ranging from thick leather straps to spike-studded rubber. But I've run into something incredibly unique: The Original Tie Watch from Neves.

Yep, that's right -- a tie is used as a band for your watch. And these aren't just solid-colored ties, they've got all kinds of patterns. They use vintage-styled ties to create quite a different look for the standard watch. First -- you pick your tie. They offer 28 different styles, but if you can't find one you like, you can send them your own tie (as long as you buy the watch from them). Then, you pick your style. They've got a few different ways to wrap the tie around your wrist (Windsor, Pratt, or Persian). Finally, pick your wrist size.

The price for all combinations is $75, and all the items are labeled as "unisex." Not too expensive for such a unique item. However, one must proceed with caution: things could end up looking very tacky if you don't wear this with the right outfit, or pick the right tie for that matter.
