Fasten your seatbelt - Harveys is fun, functional, and FINE

We love when a fashion is fun and functional, which is why we have a real soft spot for Harveys' Seatbelt Bags. You might have heard of them before, but what you might not know is how fun and fancy they've gotten.

We're not talking about plain black and brown seatbelt totes -- they now offer luxurious collections as well as printed and brightly colored bags of all shapes and sizes. They have leather, leopard print, herringbone, and lots more, including items for men, new moms, and children.

Not only are these bags unique and attractive, but they're incredibly durable. After all, they are made of seatbelts!

Why aren't you wearing this? Patched Bag

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Must Haves

We've been traveling a lot this month, so our eye is continually drawn to big bags that can easily hold all of our stuff as we slough through gracefully make our way through airport after airport. But, of course, we don't just want a big ol' canvas tote -- we only carry handbags that add to our overall look, not ones that take us down a notch. If there's more to carry than will fit in the bag, well ... isn't that what boys are for?

Anyway, this Patched Bag, available at Spiegel for $59, isn't quite as big as some we've had our eye on, but it definitely has the style factor. And, we like that it has multiple pockets on the inside, so we can stash (and easily find) our passport, gum, lip gloss, money, and whatever other smallish goodies we can't leave home without.

It also comes in red, which we're not opposed to, but for some reason we're just loving this rich brown. Wouldn't you get loads of use from it?

Why aren't you wearing this? Tucker Reusable Shopping Bags

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Style for a Cause, Green Fashion

You're at StyeList, so we're going to go out on a limb here and assume you're a shopper. And, even if you don't consider yourself a big shopper, chances are you at least stop by the grocery store or the drugstore or Target once in a while to stock up on necessities.

When you do, how do you carry it home? In the stores' plastic bags? We're hoping you try to at least bring a reusable bag of some sort with you, but we have to admit that our store-issued canvas bags, while completely useful, are far from stylish. Or fun.

You could be a Coach tote designer

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Contests & Giveaways

Are you one of those people who is always customizing her bags? Do you doodle design ideas and imagine how cool it would be to see someone walk down the street wearing something you dreamed up? Are you just waiting for your chance to be the next big name in bags?

Well, if you're really that good, Coach might produce your design. Plus give you other prizes!

Coach is sponsoring a contest where you take one of their "iconic" totes, and create your own design. All you have to do is download the template and start designing. You may use the Coach logo, the signature "C" pattern, or the striped "legacy" pattern, or come up with something completely unique. It's up to you.

Why aren't you wearing this? Reese Li 'Lexington' Diaper Bag

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Kids and Babies

Well, if you don't have a baby, the answer to why you're not wearing this bag is pretty obvious. However, if you're a mom (or even if you're not, but you need to carry a lot of stuff around with you), take a look at your diaper bag. Does it have Winnie the Pooh or ABC blocks on it? Because, really, those designs are for your baby, not for you.

Dante Beatrix: Bags for kids and the moms that love them

Filed under: Handbags, Accessories, Style in the News, Clothing, Kids and Babies, Style for a Cause, Green Fashion

Dante Beatrix makes bags. They make backpacks for children big and small and stylish totes for the moms walking briskly beside them.

The 'big kid eco pack' is designed for kids ages 5-10, and is "made of PET (100% recycled plastic bottles) with canvas trim, a naturally biodegradable fabric." They feature themes of peace, love and recycling. It's like understanding, but not as funny.

Is your kid a bit younger? No problem, what the 'little kid backpack' lacks in sustainable material it makes up for in creative design and durability. It's created to fit the 2-5 set and will hold all the crayons they can break.
